All this talk of internet connections and phone lines reminds me that before Xmas we were without both for nearly three weeks !! Some little b*****s, stole the BT cable and left half the town phone less and internet less. Apparently the cable was worth quite a few bob to them. It drove me insane, as it obviously affected our business, but also many other small businesses here. The doctors were trying to manage by transferring the surgery numbers to mobiles, it was total chaos. They obviously didnt give any thought to the ill or elderly who the phone is an absolute life line for. How some people can be so irresponsible is beyond me.
Anyway I'll get off of my soap box now!
Good luck with the sales today jwil.LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Ooh, stay on your soap box and I'll join youIt happens a lot around here (luckily I've not been affected), but there's one village near me where it's happened 3 or 4 times in the last year or so. A couple of occasions were within a couple of weeks of each other too.
It's so ignorant and I hope the scrapyards that take it in get as heavily prosecuted as the people stealing it "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
In total agreement there.
It has also been affecting the trains. Got caught up in some fall out from them stealing cables a couple of months ago. A right pain.
Growing from seed is quite easy..and much much cheaper..maybe do a mix??! Blimey if we can do it, then anyone can!
Wish the weather was nicer. It's so grey and foggy it's making me feel quite glum!! Have listed some books on AMaz.n tho..thanks jwil for the inspiration. As OH and I we decluttering I realised some were text books..looked them up..and if they go they will go for a tidy bit! Here's hoping!

I'm with you on the fog - had the fog lights on full blast this morning taking the kids to school.
You should do well with textbooks - I've always found that the best prices on amazon come from non-fiction / reference / textbooks. You should do well. :beer:0 -

It's happened around here too, so your rant is perfectly justified Pinot. I think the government is aiming to bring in legislation on the scrapyards so that they stop taking in nicked metal.
It's also lead from church roofs and even manhole covers - these people just don't care who they harm.0 -
Oh joy. I had a nice little flurry of sales yesterday :j :j, but the money has been wiped out as I've had to buy a new battery for the netbook
It's not the main computer but it's a handy backup to have, particularly when I want to study with the online resources so although I could have waited, I've got a lot coming up so thought I'd better do it now.
At least I don't have to find the £25 I suppose."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've managed to squeeze out a small pad of £5 today so £45/£1000 - £955 to go.
Dontcha just love it when you mess up the postage on an ebay parcel and wind up with 13p after postage but before fees?
That's not my worst though - I sold a boxset of books to Australia, I think I paid them about £5 to have them :rotfl: I had put postage of £9 on, but didn't expect for a second they would sell abroad so I didn't really check properly as it's not an uncommon set. I think the postage came to about £20 "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
