I'm not sure how much I'll get on with touch screens either. My new phone's got one, but it seems ok so far. Not that I can use it properly yet as my sim card hasn't arrived yet "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hey everyone, TFI Friday :T It's been a long hard week this week, and next week is likely to be worse.
I'm a bit grumpy too at the moment, so that doesn't help.
I've made a few sales this week though and another today :T I have had to give someone a partial refund though as I misdescribed something. My buyer was very nice though and has left me very good feedback so I'm very grateful as it was 100% my fault.
Free listing again this weekend, so the relists will certainly be done and I shall see about getting some new bits on depending on how I get on.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

I have a touchscreen phone (HTC) and I have the same problem. I can type very accurately and quickly on my trusty laptop (wot I love :smileyhea) but on my phone, typing a text is an exercise in sheer frustration. Full stops instead of spaces, random words being subsituted for what I actually typed in, everything takes so much longer than it should. I swear a LOT using that phone.
Having said that, an iPad must have a much bigger keyboard and I'd say you'd get used to it - even going from my old laptop to the new one involved a lot of adaptation to get the 'feel' of the new keyboard.
The fact that the iPad is backlit means that it is going to be much harder on the eyes that using a Kindle which is much closer to the reading-a-paper-book experience. I love my Kindle too.
My main gripes with any Apple product are:- inbuilt obsolescence - the whole point as far as Apple is concerned is that you replace your shiny new iWhatever every couple of years at least
- Apple dictate what you can do with your gadget, you have no freedom of choice, they decide what will run on it, you've got to buy everything from them
- Seriously overpriced, overhyped and over here!

My laptop is great, but one thing I wish I'd noticed beforehand is that it has a row of extra keys down the side of the keyboard, so for ages, I was always one letter out when I was typing. I'm getting better, but it still annoys me.
My only apple gadget is the ipod, and I :smileyhea that too. I've got the big classic one, so I've got loads of music, audiobooks and even films and tv shows on there. I think all I need in the world is my ipod and kindle, laptop (and I'm hoping my phone will join them too) and I'm happy
Just think how decluttered my house would be then :rotfl:"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Hi all,
Jwil i read about you saying you were getting the kindle fire - is this to replace the current kindle or does it do alot more ? I am so behind on the technological things
Ooh lots of useful chatter about the ipad  Must admit part of what appeals to me about this is the little portable keyboard you can buy - i am another of the ones who struggles with a touchscreenMind you [STRIKE]if [/STRIKE] when i save the money up for this i'll pop into a few places and get details on different tablets - i know someone who's got the blackberry playbook and they are very happy with it - although i've still not been able to find out from them if i can use it for what i need to - searching for a job, drafting application letters, starting application forms and coursework for uni - so any advice muchly appreciated
And maybe some bay of e ?
Well done on the lottery win and on the sales jwil :T I need to get some listings done but am very tired todayReally need to get rid of alot more clothes i think - i just want space now!!
I'm still restricted on my listings which is really annoying especially as i sold some stuff on free postage and had positive feedback and yet my score is completely unaltered

Hi there
Just briefly checking in..where does the time go??!!
We have a load of Apple stuff..really stable and our desktop is still going from 2002 so they can be kept running. Anyway..their products always divide people!!!
I am decorating too P&F..or rather I am not. But OH is!! Going well but it's massacring any chance of NSDs as every 2 minutes we seem to be in the DIY store down the road. Beading, paint, sugar soap, fixings for mirrors, loo roll holder ( after 10 years of just sticking the roll on the radiator we are moving on up!!)..but it all adds up. No wonder there are so many stories on here of people who have got into serious debt from doing up houses! After the bathroom comes a downstairs room..does it ever stop??!
When OH is away I have the kitchen and downstairs loo to do...think I may have not exactly lucked out there!!
Anyway hope all are OK. Well done on the lottery win jwil! That's a decent PAD you know!! And hope you feel less grumpy soon x

The Kindle Fire is Amazon's tablet which is supposedly due out sometime this year. It's out in the US already and appears to get good reviews. I think it's due to be around £250 so cheaper than the ipad, and I presumably will be able to sync my kindle to it as well if I want to. I figure it will be a cheaper introduction to a tablet, and if I can save up lots of vouchers won't cost me a lot either"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
