Good luck with the decorationg brizzledfw. We cheated and painted every room the same colour and just used soft furnishings etc to add splashes of colour and to make each room look different. When a wall starts to look a bit bashed or mucky (small grandchildren) we just paint the one wallThe paint was discontinued but we managed to get several large cans half price :money:
Hi DedicatedDFW and the rest of the gang hope all's well with you.
I'm busy over at the Pensions and Retirement forum trying to get the best deal for OH.
Hey retired, good luck with finding a good deal for your OH, it's so confusing.
When we moved into our house, we just painted it all magnolia to cover up all the bright colours and got rid of the 60s wallpaper. I'd like to do some more properly, but that will be done as the house gets clearer."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". jwil you are doing really well with your PADs :T Hope this week goes quickly for you at work and that you are back to your cheerful self soon x
It looks like we'll have approximately the same amount to raise for the house jobs we need to pay for - due to me neglecting to mention what i wanted doing with the adjoining bit at a later date and then realising this could impact on the job being done now!
I need to list loads on the bay of e in the hopes of raising money  But i am getting a bit narked with the questions from buyers after the listing has ended: ' i need to receive this within 2 days. confirm you've sent it' and from someone who only paid at the weekend so i am still within the timescales for posting stuff out 'can you confirm you have posted this' and 'i don't just want a confirmation from eb*y that this has been postedyou must e-mail me to confirm you have sent the item  Gah!
I suppose i'm just not in the mood and to them their messages don't come across as either blunt or creating needless extra things for me to do
Hi retiredandskint - oof! pensions - i have no savings and nothing sorted out for my retirementIt is something i do worry about but i don't know what would be secure enough to give me a suitable income in my retirement even if i could afford to put something away for it
People can be so rude with their questions can't they  It really bugs me. I always tend to let people know when I'm packing the item when it will be posted so luckily don't get too much of them.
I get fed up with 'oh I forgot to bid, will you sell it to me now?' questions. I've had a load of them recently, and don't bother any more, either bid while it's live or set up a snipe "Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hi!
I've never read one of these diaries before but I'm finding it really interesting. I've got stuff to sell on eBay too (oh so many books) so it's great to read about other people doing it.
Good luck for the rest of the year!
Hi gildius  I'm very honoured that you are reading, and surprised that you are not asleep through boredom :rotfl:
Good luck with the ebay sales, and do pull up a chair and hang out here if you want to
Ooh I've just spotted that you are a fellow West Country person"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I've been doing some very long surveys today which have been fairly time consuming but I'm very close to an amazon voucher now, so that's good.
Very disappointed to see that BP are no longer going to do amazon vouchers any more, so that will be my biggest source of them goneI guess I'll have to try some of the other sites I haven't made the effort with.
A couple of my ebay items are going well so I'm very pleased about that.
Hope everyone is well"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

The rule of thumb used to be that you needed £100k saved for each £5k worth of pension you wanted to draw per annum. However, with plunging annuity rates, it is more like £140k now. The expectation is that the price of annuities will go down again.
Scary though, isn't it?Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000
Now: £173,2290 -

Hi all
jwil - well done on the surveys and good news on your listings too :T:T
I have been being ill all day _pale_ have still been in work the whole timeand am now just having a cuppa to see if this will help
Annoyed with myself for buying a hot lunch today but as i felt so carp i was hoping i'd feel better with something other than a sarnieMy food flask has arrived now though so hopefully next week i can start putting it to use - with sunday as my only day off though it will be a very busy day trying to fit everything in.
Jwil - i have spent £30 on packaging materials this week - for parcels on the bay of e. What do you do for packing stuff ? - this £30 will cover 180 parcels though and will save me loads of time and i incorporate 20p for packaging on the posting and packaging parcels so it does pay for itself.
Tomorrow you'll be half way through the week hon - hope next week at work will be easier for you x

morning all,
hope you are feeling better Jwil - good news on your lottery wins.
DDFW - hope you are feeling better today.
I had a slight accident involving a horse and a gate on the weekend and am now sporting a lovely fat foot, ankle and calf which varying degrees of blue black and redI am such a wimp with pain too so feeling rather loopy on painkillers
I did some surveys too yesterday and finally got a sainsburys voucher from VO and another Amzn voucher from Swgbks. I am also nearly up to £10 on MS so finally feel like all my surveying is paying off - I do get very bored with them though0 -

Ouch! LAM - hope you're ok and feeling better soon - that does sound really painful x
I'm still poorly todaywas supposed to dash to the post office earlier but will go tomorrow instead and post 1st class instead of 2nd so everything will still arrive at the same time. Just feeling completely rotten and a full long day of work ahead of me - and i only have 1 day off this week too which is on sunday so i'll have alot to do then as well - carbooty, food shop and preparing for the week ahead  I am sure there is supposed to be some rest time somewhere
I know people might think i shouldn't go to the carbooty but i actually enjoy it and at least then i'm up early so will go food shopping early too so i can at least try and have a bit of quiet time in the afternoon. I have been rubbish with surveys - been screened out of just about every one i've started lately so have given up for a while again as at the mo. i am just not seeing any reward for my time on these. Good Luck for getting paid out on your surveys soon LAM x

Hey everyone
DDFW - hope you are feeling better soon.
Chocforever - indeed, I don't know anyone that can put that amount of money away. I guess we've all just got to do what we can and *something* will be better than nothing.
LAM - ouch ouch ouch! That sounds nasty, hope you are ok. I'm pathetic with pain too, I don't handle it well.Well done on your surveys and SB redeems. I've had a big batch of surveys that I haven't been screened out from, so I'm getting close to redeem on a few sites now :j
DDFW - I use poundland for packaging, and recycle what I can. I put out a begging email at work and so people often bring me in their unwanted packaging. I reuse takeaway containers for fragile items as they are strong but lightweight."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
