    Hi retiredandskint,

Sorry to hear the sales are slowing down a bit. I'm the same regarding thinking things can only be relisted so many times before its time to get rid of them. What i am doing though is re-listing all the 99p stuff (some of it must be in the double figures for relists ) and the dearer stuff i pop back on when its FLW and when they'll let me use that again :o Anyways its shocking how some stuff must have been relisted several times and then ends up going for a good price in a bidding war. What i'm thinking is eventually i will have a carboot with all the stuff thats not shifting or possibly not suitable for bay of e - the bulky low value things etc. But at the moment i've not got enough stuff to fill the car so will continue sorting and listing things  With a carboot i always aim to have enough stuff to make about £100 although my mum said i should just try for £50 next time. i've always sold more than £100 and sold everything or charity shopped what didn't go. But as there is less and less stuff to sell i think thats why my ma said to aim lower.

I always ebay, car boot, then charity as well.

I've never thought of going to a car boot with a figure in mind, we just load up and hope to make the pitch back and get some profit and some stuff cleared. We usually look round too though so would be going anyway. I think the lowest we've ever made is around £20 and the highest over £200.

Hi jwil - i do use the texts, calls and internet and am happy that they are generous enough that i shouldn,t reach my limit. As i,ve changed the calls on the landline to just free in the evenings and weekend as this saved money i do use my mobiles for any 01 or 02 or mobile calls in the daytime but again should be comfortably within limit and i like not having the internet limits too.

I,d better get saving for an ipad of wonder then :D

I think a carboot is different for us as maybe because we don,t have thing packed ready for 1 as we don,t have lots of things or do them as regularly as yourself. So we,ve got to get the stuff together, packed in boxes etc. And borrow a table. We aim to have a good mix of stuff - clothes, shoes, bags, ornaments, kitchenware, bedding, toys etc. Varied enough to attract different browsers and with some things there that would make people come and take an interest. A good layout on the table when we set up too x This approach has always worked for us but as we don,t have a regular carboot and the stuff there has been tried on ebay then we do have slightly lower prices to shift stuff too. Xx

Hope all is well with you hon x

Hello jwil and friends..sorry haven't been on the boards but hope you're all ok. Too much work and not enough free Internet to surf when I have had free time as I have been away working etc. sorry..:-(

iPads are great. I bought one in October 2010 when things were financially very different ...have never regretted it though. But £500 is a lot of cash. Not sure I would get a new one now....that's for sure. Great for typing course notes..I use it for meeting notes now too.

Pleased to see some sun the last 2 days..last week was pretty blurgh.

  • Hi Jwil, DDFW, Brizzle, Retired and everyone

I've been rather busy and I've neglected the forum for a while. Haven't read back much to catch up but I hope you're all doing well. Jwil, you are getting loads done as usual.:T

The garden is looking good and the decorating is coming along slowly - there are no words to describe how much I LOATHE painting!

Work seems to have picked up a bit as well so I'll stay busy for a while but I'm not complaining. DH still not working and still doing very little, no change there. :(

Will try to stay in touch a bit more from now on. :)

Hi Brizzle and peaceandfreedom :) Lovely to have you both back :D

Brizzle - it is indeed alot of money - but for what it would be used for and what it would save me in time i'm thinking it could be a good investment - mind you the money saving pots i tried before for other things constantly got raided for bills :o

peaceandfreedom - it is a shame i do not live nearer - i'd help you with the painting :) Glad work is busy and the garden is doing well too :)

Sorry to hear your OH is still out of work too xx

Glad work is busy for you and you've made progress with the decorating. I'm not a painter either I'm afraid :o

Sorry to hear your DH hasn't managed to find a job yet either, it's difficult out there.

Nice to hear from you both again though :)

Hey HI, hope all is well with you :)

That's interesting about the ipad, what don't you like about it? One of the reasons I went for a laptop over the ipad, was because I was worried I wouldn't get on with it.

I'm saving my amazon vouchers for the Kindle fire. I figure I :smileyhea my Kindle, so it must be good too :D Also if I pay for it with amazon vouchers it won't have cost me anything :j
