Pippi, I have some liquid stuff that you put on fabric, then let it dry and then you can put it in a printer to print things off computer.. There are also about 3 banana boxes of random craft things that mum bought over the years - including things like a block you can carve into to print things... would you like me to put aside for you?

DDFW i cook most beef type meats in my slow cooker, means that nothing is undercooked and everything is tender. I'm sure you'll be fine when you do cook it.

Evening all...ooh, a knitting workshop sounds fab!! :j:j

We could look at unravelling jumpers to re-use wool. I have a few of the boys t-shirts, which you can cut up to make a "yarn". Will investigate further.

I am happy to teach anyone to knit if they want to learn...the fingerless gloves I made you are a bit complicated for beginners (4 double pointed pins). I have a very simple pattern though, knitted on two needles, quick and easy and just needs sewing up to make into fingerless gloves. I have a few knitted already, but not sewn up, which I can bring as examples.

Oh, by the way, looks like an April visit is back on!! Dad left a cryptic message while I was out, saying that I can come up when I want!! I will let you know about dates Pippi once I have booked the flights. I assume it would be best if I came over to Orkney at the weekend....also good for me to catch up with family too...oooh getting so excited!!

Need to get to bed soon, so tired today. Crafting all day tomorrow...have a few presents to make, so need to get a move on!

Have a great Friday everyone xx

    Morning all

Just a thought pippi if you wanted a quick and easy make that encourages recycling you can make hats out of old jumpers

You take an old jumper lie it flat then starting at the ribbing at the bottom cut out a square (or a head shape if you want to be fancy) through 2 layers. Then put them right side to right side and sew together. Turn it the right way out and you have a brand new, up cycled, warm hat for windy days.

Just an idea for you. It came to me when keiss mentioned unravelling jumpers.

Hope you have a good day today everyone

sounds like a fab hat starnac, i would never have thought of it i'd be too worried about it all unravelling. Probably because my mum put the fear of god in me as a child about dropped stitches.

What a great idea Starnac! I might have a go at that with a jumper that I accidentally shrunk last year :o

gilligansyle, Piquant, Lemon Tree, starnac and everyone - thanks for the suggestions on the meat - yep have a slow cooker here and that seems to be the way to go with it :D

I'll let you all know how it turns out :)

Been to my crochet class today - very good fun :) And then i went and bought some wool - but for knitting with :rotfl::rotfl: Found out that the wool was on offer but is definitely a knitting wool - which i knew anyways and i got a free pattern which i knew i'd get and wanted to make so for £1.49 i cannot grumble :D I was tempted by some wool there to crochet a hat with but as they only had a couple of balls left and i wasn't sure how much i needed i decided to wait until i knew what i needed first rather than impulse buying :o Plus i'm hoping to go to a carboot this weekend and may discover some wool there :D

Bonjour everyone, I'm back - if only from France, but no, from the local hospital and my bed. I had the op. No idea how well it went, the consultant came to see me when I was still spaced out on the anaesthetics and looked gloomy, talked about significant damage, yadda yadda yadda, but I didn't hear much of what he was saying, so am going to live in ignorant bliss for a couple of weeks!

In good news though, my leg hurts a lot less than I was anticipating and I'm hobbling about quite well and my lovely parents have been lookng after me and DD very well for the last few days :)

Glad you aren't suffering too much. Ignorant bliss is a lovely place to live. I try to holiday there at least once a year. More if I can help it ;)
