I crashed and burned last night and I'm heading out to work again. Promise to catch up PROPERLY later. I don't mind working weekends, I don't as I've only myself to blame!
I hope you're all great and enjoying your sundays - If I don't get dressed soon I'll be at a car booty in my pj's!

Afternoon all,
Gosh a lot of chatting going on since I was last on here!!
Been busy sewing, here's the morsbags I have made for you Pippi, hope you like them. The yellow flowery quilt cover ones are growing on me, might make some for myself! Will get them posted off to you this coming week. Do you want any more made?
Greying, this is my Singer machine I got last November. Had loads of Mr T vouchers which I used with Double-up, so only ended up paying for £35 for it...including the delivery, which was very speedy!! This is a very good site, and if I hadn't had the vouchers, I'd have been looking there, though they don't sell Singers. You get a good free gift too. Over on the Sewing thread people rate the site highly. They sell Janome, Brother, Elna and Pfaff, as well as their own. You get good service backup from them too.
It all depends how fancy you want to be. My machine has quite a few stitches, which I played with when I first got it, and will use in the future. The things I love best are the needle threader and the needle-down postition, and now I am quilting: feed dogs that can be dropped....sad I know! It's also much lighter ad quieter than my 26 year-old Lewenstein...which I will probably still use for some stuff, but it wasn't any good for quilting, just couldn't get the tension sorted, no matter how I tried. My Singer is brilliant for quilting and everything else I've use it for since I got it...and that's quite a lot so far. See Sewing Projects 2012 and Free-Motion Machine Quilting Workshop 04/02/12 for the past week's work!!
Right, there's more sewing to be done, still loads to do!
Glad you are recovering well from your op KK, great news!
Good luck with all your packing KC..ad LT. I've not moved for over 16 years...would be a BIG job if/when we ever move again! DH is spending this afternoon tidying up his shed, so hopefully he will manage to get in it now so he can actually work in there!
Have a fun week..still not got my seeds out yet... need to soon!
Sorry for the ramble...just nice to natter sometimes x

Waves back again
Can any of you help. I want to do a big batch of muffins today (the sweet variety). I am going to end up making 4 batches of 12 probably. But i wondered if I could freeze them so that I could leave say 3 out of each type. Wouldn't get quite so boring then.......

Keiss - WOW!!! those bags look absolutely ace, well done you :j
Thanks for the response about the sewing machine too. I'll bookmark those sites and give them a proper look over. You are right about the 'needle up/down' function, that and the speed control are seducing me too!!Now that I've also discovered what a 'walking foot' does, I want one of those too!! Am I going to do much quilting with one? Naw, but they are good for lining patterns and stripes up, so I think I could go pattern mad :rotfl:
Mind you, I've discovered on my 'travels' that Singer, Pfaff and Viking are now all part of the same organisation, but the interesting thing is that they have kept their identity, as people definitely have their 'favourite' machines/models.
Thank you once again Keiss and Cheery for taking the time to respond to my question.
Have a great day all.

Fab bags Keiss, they're gorgeous
We've exchanged on the forever home, hoorah!! I should be doing you know what, but I'm sitting here smiling and dreaming instead0 -
Hi all
Keiss - those bags are fab :T:T:T And thank-you also for the sewing machine info - i know greying asked but i would like to start sewing again - will need a refresher course methinks and i'll probably look at a reasonable priced one on the bay of e whilst i'm initially getting back into it - but you've all given me lots to think about in terms of the functions i need & want tooSo thanks for the question greying
Kittikins - woo - that must be so exciting getting ready to move into your forever home :T
Pippi - what is it that you do at the charity shop? Sorry if i've missed something but i think today i read you were trying to make it work? Just wondering thats all - and of course if i have any suggestions i'll obviously send them your way too
Chev - you have got me thinking about baking and cakes Om nom nom!
KC - good to hear you are around again - hope you are ok and don't try and do too much too soon x
I'm trying to get some of those niggly jobs out of the way today - you know the ones where there is no urgency so they hang around for a loong time waiting to be done? Or is that just meI must admit sometimes its a case of not knowing where to start, and others its finding out the info. i need but not having the energy / time / materials to do any more. Anywho's thanks to some lovely advice i was given a couple of weeks ago after posting on a thread - i am getting one of these things out of the way tomorrow (when i am out and about) - that will feel good once its sorted

Glad you like the bags Pippi and everyone else too. No, they didn't take too long to make, made the three of them in a morning. Probably best to make a template for the two material sizes, as quicker and easier to cut lots out. I changed slightly how I made up the bag but I'll let you know that in detail when I send the bags to you.
I do have some material to make a bag specially for you Pippi, so will check to see if there is enough to material...yup, just measured it...plenty, well, only just!!! Was going to make you something else with it, but this is absolutely perfect!!
Glad the sewing machine stuff is useful to a few of you. You could always pop over to the sewing thread if you want to...warning, it can get addictive, and there's a lot of pages to get through!!!
Hope your weather improves Pippi...chilly and windy, but was actually sunny for a bit! We are on the edge of the drought zone declared today  Watered my plants in pots again today...crazy for February!! My crocuses are up and flowering, along with the snowdrops, cyclamen and aconites. Some of the early daffs might be out soon too..sorry if this is depressing for you. Just think, you could have some bulbs in your polytunnel flowering for you this time next year!!
Right, off to bed now, computing day tomorrow, so no MSE until at least lunch-time!!
Night, night xx

*sidles in* erm I know this is silly, but I am petrified that if I use a sewing machine, I will sew my fingers aswell _pale__pale_. Is this an unfounded fear? Also I worry about threading one correctly do they auto thread or anything. All i really want one for is hemming really and sewing on the odd cub badge.
Thanks for the info on muffin freezing. They didn't 'quite' get baked yesterdaybut it will be done tomorrow!
*waves back at Pippi*
Uni hope you are ok
