Hi Greying,
there is a down side to all this touch screen phone malarkey;
Having declared some time ago that I would never get used to it, I'm now fully integrated, to the extent that I had a ridiculous moment at the cashpoint recently when I couldn't operate it.
I kept tapping the screen to withdraw my money & it was only on the 3rd failed attempt that I realised that I needed to tap the buttons to the side of the screen
Oh dear:rotfl:
Happy wombling Pippi0 -
:hello::hello::hello:
Hello! I'm backI'm doing okay - its a big adventure to type (v v carefully) with both hands - op was fast, a convict from local prison opposite me in recovery room! truly. Sister collected me and looked after me, including cooking for me, left me alone so I could get some quiet time, then came back and did more for me. I've started going out for walks, 20 mins or so, will try to get into town today (30 mins).
Erm, cos it was micro surgery I forgot there'd be, y'know, stitchesthey'll come out end of next week. They pull v slightly, but the most difficult thing at first was itchiness from micropore tape, and now from not being able to lie in bed on that side! And really, thats all :T No pain, not even much aching, just shattered all the time
and slightly
at the state of my storecupboards, which really are fit for a siege. Several sieges.
Lemon Tree - I'd be ecstatic if you came down and help me pack!!! I'm rubbish at it and even more pants at getting rid of things I really don't need. I have more wine glasses than I know what to do with and rarely have more than 2 extra people in the house but can I declutter any? Can I heck as like.....come down to sunny Brightonish area so you could help me pack and then we could go for fish and chips on the seafront
The exchange is hopefully Monday next week with completion on Wednesday 29th. Gulp. 2 weeks today.....
Any other offers?!?
Can't do moving at the mo, cos of shoulder, or anything really because I'm pretty dozy at the mo (whats different?) but I *am* good at helping declutter - might be able to help you soon, but not now, sorry :grouphug:

Have just realised what a total techno-luddite I is!! I was happy with my new PAYG phone, from Tatco, purchased with the judicious use of coupons, discounts and vouchers for the sum of .... £5!! :rotfl: Mind you, it is the first 'touch' phone that I have had, and it has got a camera (3.2mp) on it so I'm dragging meself into the 21st century........eventually!!! Think I've got a ways to go yet though. But as I primarily use a moby for texting, my needs are somewhat miniscule.
All this talk of ops has anyone heard how Karmacat got on? Have I missed KC being back on?? Hope all went well anyhow, and that recovery is swift.
Have a great weekend everyone, stay warm!
Greying
Thank you Greying :kisses3: I'm good, I really am, tho this is my first time back on here, and recovery was v swift - its now all about healing, which is taking its own time, but with the holy trinity of freezer, microwave and dishwasher, all is well.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
KC - glad the op went well, wonder if I'll meet any 'interesting' people when I go in? So pleased you're not in pain and I've decided to take as much stuff as I 'think' I need with me, so there'll be plenty of decluttering available when you come over for gluten-free cakes0

Cheery - Thanks ever so for the reply. Of course, Pfaff - had forgotten about them. Mmmm, just trying to trawl back through the mists of time to recall if we didn't have some of those at secondary school. Everyone always rushed to get on the Hu$quvarnas 'coz they were (relatively) 'modern'. But of course, any machine that is used by schools is worth considering, remembering the hammering us lot used to give them!!!! Valid point about the denim (am seriously impressed with 8 layers!!!!), as a) my next project involves using denim and b) most of my needlework uses erm, 'upholstery' weight fabrics, rather than chiffons and silks.
And of course, good point about the reverse, my machine did have that function, and coz I is a lazy wot not, I find it invaluable to save having to sew in all the ends
Karmacat - great to 'see' you. Glad I didn't miss your return. Good to hear you were keeping such fine company in hossie-p-tal
Lula-Hula - was beginning to wonder whether touch screen was such a good idea, especially since you are provided with a 'prong' to stab the screen with!! However, I've got used to using it and even managed to write a text without resorting to the prong. No use us getting one of these for DP though, you definitely need 'svelt' fingertips :rotfl:
Hope the hoards showed up Pippi.

Delighted to find a busy and lovely chatty thread - I'm frozen to the bone quiet day today but busy enough to make me go out in the cold/wet/snow/hail/gales mroe that I'd like. Oh well.
Home now and heading for the shower, sofa and laptop in that order, I'll be back as the famous Austrian once said.
Hope you're all well and not sitting listening to a gale like me.
DD and I home alone tonight - if she's still not giving me the silent treatment we might actually do something.
I feel like putting sugar in her tea - might at least make her hyper which is better than 'teenage girl mode' which I'm finding quite boring. Can't she 'find herself' once she's left home, for now I'd rather she was her normally chatty self. Caffine and Sugar, thats what I need to drug her with.
(I am of course purely joking - I'd never give caffine or sugar to a child to make it interact with me!)
This 'I'm independant thing' is so last week.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Oh dear Pippi! Poor you - I can see how a non-chatty DD might get quite tedious - especially if you're used to her acting like a normal sociable human being!
Talk to Peedie instead I reckon0 -

Oh dear indeed
As I've been out all day he's also huffing.
Bit of a quiet one at the charity - I'm cooking up all sorts of schemes via music magpie, recycling cartridges, games, glasses phones etc etc to try and up our 'online' recycling too. I'm determined this project WILL work. Spent most of the day sorting print cartridges (yay we're upto nearly £20's worth) and videos, which I've not found much of a home for yet, never mind any money!
A pile of stuff to go on amazon too - so I'll have to get my finger out. I really really really want to make it work.I love my womble job:D

If anyone can make it work young lady you can! :T :T :T
Just parcelled you up a parcel (finally!!) Some of it was meant to come at Christmas:rotfl: :rotfl: Still, more things added now
Sadly I've now missed the post office, and I also don't have any sellotape, so it still might be a while before it leaves the house, but it's getting there, and will hopefully be with you before too long! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

waves back as well.
i nearly helped a charity shop out today, spotted the back of a wicker dog bed from outside the shop, just the right size for a long dashund, but when i went inside it didn't have a dropped bit at the front so i was worried our future doggy wouldn't be able to get into it, she's only got little leggies you know. also it would be something else to store in our already full to the brim flat.
hope DD is talking again to you tonight so you're not too lonely0 -
Whilst I know miss being independant is a pain, be thank ful it has taken this long.
*waves through the centre of the earth*.
She will come right
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
