Ok finally the isles of stripes budget announcement. (long overdue)

Ok who would have guessed that working agrees with my finances? I know it was a shock to me too :)

    Banks -
Fat Controller - an amazing 464.49 left in my OD - clearly I've not been PAD'ing very much - that needs to be redistrubuted to the cards soon but the DD's come off on the 15th so I need to check and use my toes and make sure I don't swizz myself and leave enough in the od for the dd's (£200).

Lloyds is sitting with £45 left in the OD - nowt much happenning in there but I know the phones off soon so must make sure its covered - probably need put £20 in there as the phone bill is £55 and due on the 10th - this DD needs to shift as part of operation get rid of lloyds bank commences soon. I've the cc's to tackle first then crack on with getting rid of this account and OD. :)

Lucifer - (sorry I'm being distracted by a chicken hopping onto the windowsill and pecking at the plant beside me!!!!!!!!!! Daft chicken - doesnt she know that geraniums (pelagonium) are not for chickens? Its orange scented too - there fore she'd not like it - oh no here's another of her chums come to see what the fuss is about - and anohter - 3 chickens on a windowsill - quite a sight!) - Anyway back to the cc's lucifer - has £303 remaining of the balance - need to keep those pad's up.

Captain cc - the balance remaining is 666.91 - I've to pay for the car - which is £240 so I guess this card could do with the biggest pad - and keep that at an even keel when I pay the garage.

OK - all in all not brilliant - but not bad either - certainly not anywhere near starvation.

I have to bill for 2.5 hours gardening work - and I've a bill to write for womble land on the 15th. Aside that WTFC will tick into the bank once a week and keep us sorted.

Trying to eat more out of the freezer - :) combining journeys and generally being a good MSE'r.

    :) progress - slow but steady :)

OK time to get on with the day - have a great one and see you all later - I may venture passed the Dr if I can.

  • Oh, and I need to write up recycling video tapes - thus far I've found out the best way to recycle them is freegle/charity shops/carboots/ebay - or a*da or Sainsbugs take them doon sooth at certain stores to be recycled OR.......

A company south takes media including video tapes them (unfortunately NOT free postage) and upto 100 from each household - mishes them up for free and makes them into other things.

If anyone has any other bright ideas please do let me know :)

morning Pippi, Glad you are feeling better. Although off to the dr's if you are still not feeling 100%. better to be safe than sorry (wow I may have turned into my mum  )

We did have snow here and as much as I love snow I wished it away all weekend cos I need my windows fitted today. Most of it has cleared now so shouldn't be a problem.

DS is 12 weeks old today :T he started chuckling at the weekend which is so cute. must post new pics on fb cos he is so big now. think he is going to be big built like his dad.

Banks are looking good Pippi even if you have been neglecting them ;)

The banks are looking great, aren't they - yep, working agrees with your finances!

The days of me having videos are long gone (tho I do have a few, actually, one of my cats, one of my rellies in AFrica, that I plan to t/f onto dvd one fine day) - I didn't know about A*da and Sainsbo taking them to recycle - I wonder what *they* do with them, how they recycle?

I did come across a couple of sites where people were suggesting craft-type things to do with the tape itself - was that because of you? Maybe ... one woman was weaving it to create something like a string bag, and I think that !!!!!! James bloke has used them, along with shredded plastic bags, as stuffing for cushions. What do you think?

Hello Pippi, you're sounding very chirpy today, hoorah! Keep wrapped up and rest, you're not out of the woods just yet by the sound of it, meandering along the path picking flowers as you go more likely :)

Woke up with a smile on my face (and no, OH wasn't cuddled up with me!) thinking about the move and then remembered the packing and my face fell momentarily. It will get done, going to try and do a box a day (or maybe more, as my dad is planning on coming down soon to sort out the shed and garden-related junk, and he's bound to be judgmental about my efforts!!)
  • Hi everyone

Pippi - hope you are 100% better soon :) Videotapes - we didn't manage to sell ours at the last carboot but one of the charity shops were very happy to receive them :) Oh and thank you for resolving the mystery of the bags

Hey KC - i have seen those bags and photoframes too from tape - they do look both good and do-able - with the right instructions or inspiration :D

KK - good luck for the packing and the move :T

starnac - looking forward to hearing how cosy the new windows are :) Is it only me that thinks new windows will be cosy? Ours let in such a breeze all the time so that it feels cold because of the breeze even if the actual room is warm :o

Hi to anyone i've missed and have a good day all :)

KK i'm so pleased that you surveyor was proven to be a muppet, they often are (the one that i had included). Wow that you will be getting your exchange and completion dates soon. :) good luck with the packing, we've still got a fair bit to do, including the whole kitchen but i'm on strike at the moment as i really could do with getting some stuff out of the already packed boxes so that i can replace stuff that i've subsequently used up grrr!
    * wonders off mutting about how it's not fair and i don't like KK anymore*

Pippi, glad so see you back here on your diary, great little banking update, all looks very positive and you really are making the best use of your time in employment.
Loved the real time narration of chicked exploits did think about you being a mini David Attenborough (sp?) but without the wobbly bits.

Glad to see you back Pippi but do go back to the Drs. I seem to recall seeing something about recyclng video tape into string bags too........ no idea where though.

Will be off adventuring this week so watching from afar but very interested to hear how the slow food event goes. Good luck with it all.

LT - my 3 boxes and 4 suitcases are but a drop in the ocean of the massive amount of packing I have to do, so don't be too jealous! I've not heard from the solicitor today which I was hoping to do, so may have to go in late to work tomorrow or work from home so I can catch the postie and hope for a letter from them.

Brrrr, it's chilly again tonight! But KC, I do have the heating on :)
