Pippi, its really socked it to you, hasn't it - but of course, if you're only just coping, you have to step back. Take care :kisses3:

Keiss, thats busy!!! Very busy  Hope you found time to draw breath! I'm just chugging along, really, nothing much going on, I'm okay but there's a lurgy in the background all the time, and I'm just taking care in case it turns into something really horrible.

    Morning Pippi, Morning All :hello:

Hope everyone's well. Have paid off Egg/BC and moved on to the next challenge.

Got my seed potatoes and onions to plant. DIY friend gave me a Bonsai and that seems to be thriving. Will look at pruning and repotting my chilli plant as its too big for the pot its in (does anyone know if it needs to be special soil?). Here's a question for you Pippi, my DIY friend suggested watering the house plants with water from the fish tank! Is this safe?

It's friday at last, need to make a list for the supermarket. I've finally got a 'shopping' purse! My old one from school. :D means I can keep food shopping totally separate.

Thanks uni for the reminder to start planting my veg. Might wait until next week though as my tomatoes usually live on the dining room window sill as it's south facing but we are having new windows fitted on monday so need all sills clear.

Pippi TAKE IT EASY! That is an order. We need you well to inspire and motivate us.

    Hya all..chilly today!

Glad you are feeling better Pippi, try to take things easy though xx

Well, sanity prevailed, and I didn't do the HC in the car yesterday...or today!! Stayed at home :j I will possibly need to get a few bits this aftenoon if/when DH's car comes back. It passed it's MOT apart from the headlight height-adjusters needing to be fixed. There was a blip though...it wouldn't start initially at the garage, but was fine later. The garage chap is checking that out today, so it may be something simple (and cheap!) or more complicated (and expensive)...fingers crossed for the right one!!

I not only stayed at home yesterday, I was hardly out of the kitchen!! I made 4 fruit loaves, 4 loaves of bread, a tray of choc & beetroot brownies and two batches of scones (one plain and one fruit)...then pizza for tea (HM pizza base). In the afternoon, I dyed some pieces of fabric (18)....need to wait until this afternoon before I can rinse and wash them. Then I can see how well they have dyed. I was shattered last night, but at least I was warm all day!

Today I am catching up with the paperwork for college...contacted HR and they are happy to get it next week, thank goodness!! I also need to check out HMRC as I now have my UTR from them, so will have a look at what I can
now access online. I also got the paperwork for my new bank account in the post this morning...will go into town and show my documentation to get the account activated so I can start putting money in...:j

There is quite a bit of snow forecast for here at the weekend...and I will be out and about in it!! Heading for the Cotswolds for a sewing workshop 10 -4 tomorrow, then back home to collect DH and DS1 and we're off to the Malverns to watch the rugby at a friend's...let's hope it's not too bad! :o

Have a lovely Friday, and weekend....try to keep warm! xxx

Hya Unix, are you chitting your potatoes? I always do mine, though didn't grow any tatties last year, and may not again this year...I may succumb still though :o.

Don't prune your chilli too much...which one is it? It doesn't need special soil, I always do 1/2 'n' 1/2 multipurpose with John Innes no 2...seems to work for all my plants, just multipurpose will do too. Don't forget to feed it. I tend to use Baby Bio over the winter months, before heading into tomato feed later when it is in full flowering mode. If it looks like it is suffereing from red sprider mite spray regularly with warmish water containing a little washing up liquid...this will also catch any other sap-sucking bugs that are over-wintering. Can you tell I am busy doing this atm! Mind you, not sure how well my plants are going to survive in the conseervatory....only 2 degrees this morning! Crept up to 8 during the day....so we didn't visit it much!

Must dash..happy gardening...if you can do any in the cold!

Good grief, Keiss, you're busy! Mind you, a sewing workshop sounds lovely, and so does the cooking - "lurvely" in fact :)

uni i know you asked pippi but a few years ago my outside fishpond was perpetually green one year so each night a took a couple of watering cans of water out of it to water the toms and courgettes and then topped the pond up with fresh, that was the BEST year i have ever had with both veggies. Looking forwards to being able to do that in the new house as we're getting a pond included.

Wow LT, I suppose it works as there is a high proprtion of nitrogen in the green pond water...and mainly rain-water too...both good for growing plants.

KC - yup it was a good baking day. Most of it is now in the freezer, so at least there should be some left by Monday!!
