Thanks LT, will give it a go then.
Keiss, I don't chit my potatoes in the normal way. The seed potatoes get left in the kitchen on the window ledge (inside) and they come on nicely. I lost my crop last year but last year was the first time I hadn't changed the soil so I'll do that this year. My chilli is a bird eye and they are mega hot.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Ay up Pippi - glad to hear that you are on the mend. Glad you got the bags - and hope they are useful to you. It took a-a-a-g-g-g-e-e-e-s-s-s to collect those 3, then the day I sent them off to you, DP managed to blag 3 in 1 dayWill post them off to you just now, with a larger one that I've squirreled away.
Well done DD with the prelims/exams - both your children are a credit to themselves and their ma :T
Mind you, I am going to a sewing workshop on Saturday, so I will be doing what I love from 10 to 4!! Then shooting back 40-odd miles to watch the Calcutta Cup at a friend's house with DH and DS2 ...go Scotland!!! We're being fed too, so should be a lovely evening.
Keiss - we will be looking forward to watching the Scotland v England game too. Whilst I will be supporting England, I reckon Scotland have a more than fair chance of victory. I enjoy watching Scotland as they battle until the final whistle, no matter what the score line. It's a trait the the Italian team have too, and I really enjoy watching their matches. Scotland's advance/final position in the 6 nations and the world cup last year belied the actual effort that was put in their matches, the games were always much closer than the final score line sometimes suggested. So whilst we will be intrigued to see what the new England line-up will do, I shall at least be cheering on one Scottish team member (if he plays) as we share the same family name. I don't think we're related (v v v distant if we are), but it's not such a commonplace surname, so he gets my support :j Mind you, the weather for Edinburgh at the time of the match tomorrow pm isn't looking too good, so I'm glad we will be in front of the woodstove watching it, rather than up at Murrayfield!
Take care with the weather round you tomorrow Keiss, I watched the Channel 4 weather report and it gave increasingly poor weather for your area as the afternoon/evening wears on - stay safe.

Morning all,
Have been lurking for a while, lots going on but not all of it good so haven't posted much. Anyway hope you are all well and that Pippi you are on the mend and not rushing to do too much too soon.
Unix' post caught my attention though - I guess watering your plants with water from the fishtank is like a low-tech DIY version of aquaponics? Where you circulate water to grow plants through a tank to grow fish, to the benefit of both. Should be a good source of plant food.
My email account has been targeted by spammers Aaargh! Hope that changing my password will be enough to stop them but we'll see.
Very frosty here this morninng, have work to do but then out with friends later, probably into a museum or something. If still nice afterwards I would like a walk by the river ending at a pub with a nice fire - we'll see if I can persuade the others.
My potatoes (first earlies) are chitting in the conservatory ATM. At least I hope they are chitting and not just freezing LOL!0 -
Hi all - so glad to hear you are feeling much better pippi
Pippi and greying i must admit to being a bit confuzzled about the bags ? i guess they must be a certain type?
It is indeed freezing here today too - we headed out on a crisp dry day for a walk and returned home like 2 snowmen :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - We were well wrapped up though so it was fine.
Starnac - i desperately need new windows - it must be so exciting having them done :T
troglodyte i hope everything is ok.

Hello! I'm excited now - Pippi's getting well again, and the thred is bouncing around because of it
And ooh, new windows, I have some but I'd like all of them done - I can feel a huge draught coming from one, and since it *is* supposed to be double glazed, thats not good!
The bags - aren't they the transparent ones that magazines come in?2023: the year I get to buy a car0
