    Afternoon all.

Hope you are all keeping nice and warm and catching up with sleep etc.

Had a lovely time at the sewing workshop...really learned a lot, and even managed to produce some decent work!

As for the drive back, it wasn't too bad, just took things steady and made good progress...the strong side-wind did send me sliding sideways for a bit , but with very little traffic, there was no problem. It did set my heart racing though!

Don't think I will mention the rugby...too many mistakes by both sides, and Scotland should have done better. Hey hoh, unfortunately we Scots are getting used to this state of affairs :(

We had a lovely meal and got home safely, so a good evening on balance.

The snow has all gone here now, even reaching 4 degrees C, but bitter out in the breeze.

Need to get going with some sewing now, really inspired by the workshop yesterday!

Take care everyone, have a good week. xxx

Howdy all from snowy Kittikinsland (not far from KC's realm :) ) we've also got lots of stupid snow but we managed to get out and about in it this morning to take OH back home - he's worse in snow than me, so not sure when I'll see him again, probably when it all melts and goes away for good!

DD and I are getting mega-excited now as finally on Friday the surveyor was shown up to be a prize plum as quelle surprise, my house didn't have the serious problem he was predicting, and the buyer was there too to witness the testing of the soakaway and the joy that it's all ok, so hopefully we're going to exchange contracts this week and move to the bungalow by the end of the month :)

In eager anticipation I've packed up another suitcase of clothes and DD and I went through her craft cupboard and another one in the kitchen and filled 3 boxes. Hmmm......there was me thinking I had tons of boxes and I don't have that much 'stuff' in the kitchen.....turns out, even with a bit of pruning, I do!! 2 out of 3 boxes are marked for the garage as they're not essential everyday things and I will have the world's smallest kitchen in the new place for a while, so don't want to clutter it up straightaway!

Brrrrrr, its cold, even with 3 layers on, might have to put the heating back on or maybe get the oven on for some dindins :) Keep warm everyone x

People are doing well! Keiss, how lovely you were so inspired by your day! I'm very tempted to do something like that, but I really need my house and garden more settled.

KK - hiya! I'm glad you've had good news on the house sale. But fancy you not having your heating on at 5pm! Wow - I'm very impressed - no way could I do it, but I'd love to. Mind you, if I've been out for the day, the ordinary heat in the house is warm, you're right.

I'm tidying up to get things easier for my sister while she's here overnight next week - and it *really* shows me how cluttered ordinary life makes my house (or, erm, how little I ever tidy up normally!). Plus this is the time of year when I chuck out old accounts papers - I always have, but no way could I keep them nowadays, with so much less space. Its nice to have less! And for the first time in ages, there's some stuff I haven't worn this winter, and that I don't *want* to wear - hurray, stuff to go charitising!

  • Mornimg all - apologies for being awol - worked all weekend then managed a wee walk with the doggie - which feels like ages since we've walked but there you are!

I hope you're all well - RT welcome and helllllloooooooo I'm very happy to see you here with us all - pottering away in the isle of stripes in a rather cluttered but colourul kitchen! Hasn't everyone been busy?????

No snow here - a slight frost this am which is unusual anyway - kids are at school (kids um at 15 2/3 and 17 1/2 do they qualify as kids?) anyhow the younglings are very excited as we're off school from Wed-Friday on a long weekend inservice.

Uni I hope the puppies are grand

Keiss glad you've driven safely and brilliant to be inspired - I'm organising a 'learn to use your machine workshop' via work - which I'm going to bag a place on - we spend the first half learning the basics and then (rather cunningly) we make our own home made shopping bag, well we make two - one of us at the charity and the folk will bring something old and loved to make their own bag at. :) We all win :) - not as advanced as you but I'm certainly taking inspiration from you. :)

KK woo hoo to houses and surveyors and things working - clutter - Im in denial about clutter how exciting that you'll be moved soon!

KC keep warm in that snow - your sister coming over is a great way to get a bit more organised - heating on here sporadically - ie in the rooms where it works! :) Have a great week

Lulahulabalua - hope you're good :) I'll catch up after tuesday and our big events done for Slow Food - todays an organising kinda day and tomorrow I pick up the lady from the plane we whoosh about the place and then we have a wee drinks thing at night - we've nearly 10 members :) so that's exciting.

Maty I need a catch up - hows rodders!

Troglodyte - how lovely for you to pop by - I've a parcel sitting here for you - I do need to finish it - its been on the go for months (sorry). A huge Hug for you sorry things have been difficult. Aquaponics had me thinking of experiments we did previously to measure nitrogen levels with different tanks/feeding regimes :) (we had a very enthusiastic professor!) - chitting earlies - oh my - I guess it IS that time of year!Take care me dear and lovely to see you - hope life smiles on you xxxxx

DDFW - Greying is a sweetie and saves her poly zip lock bags for me and then posts them up here for me to do magical things with them - she began ages back and now and again I get a lovely card and a stash of bags - between Greying and the bags, Cheery and the loo rolls - I do OK for extra recycling :) glad you had a lovely walk though - I got a crisp one in yesterday - no snow but cold!

I'm slowly working back and I'll catch you all eventually! For now I need a cuppa and to find my diary and copy LT and do my banks etc and write it all in the diary :) Oh has LT moved yet whilst I've been lurgmified - I must go and peek.

Starnac - new windows today - I hope they are quick and you get them in without getting too cold - hows that lovely baby?????? And DD must be loving it if you have snow - I wonder if you do?

LUcielle - you sound liek our kind of mother - not mine which is nice - hope you're good too lady - haven't been about much - didn't want to spread my lurgy :) hope your clan are good :)

Greying - fire on and watching something sounds much preferable to actually standing out in the cold!!!

    Right - banks :)

Pippi, its really socked it to you, hasn't it - but of course, if you're only just coping, you have to step back. Take care :kisses3:

I'm just chugging along, really, nothing much going on, I'm okay but there's a lurgy in the background all the time, and I'm just taking care in case it turns into something really horrible.

I hope you're good too - and I think I've got to head back to Dr - this isn't shifting either - whilst I feel more human (if indeed I can be described as human :)) I'm not right and its niggling away making me feel ergh. Take care of you!:A

Have been working away with lack of techy stuff and being cold. But thought of you when putting on my stripy hat for walk to find the beach.

Oh how lovely a stripey hat and a walk on the beach - I heartily approve of both and glad you thought of me - wonder where you are this week - I can hardly keep up hope the car's behaving itself :)

    Hya Unix,
Don't prune your chilli too much...which one is it? It doesn't need special soil, I always do 1/2 'n' 1/2 multipurpose with John Innes no 2...seems to work for all my plants, just multipurpose will do too. Don't forget to feed it. I tend to use Baby Bio over the winter months, before heading into tomato feed later when it is in full flowering mode. If it looks like it is suffereing from red sprider mite spray regularly with warmish water containing a little washing up liquid...this will also catch any other sap-sucking bugs that are over-wintering. Can you tell I am busy doing this atm! Mind you, not sure how well my plants are going to survive in the conseervatory....only 2 degrees this morning! Crept up to 8 during the day....so we didn't visit it much!

Must dash..happy gardening...if you can do any in the cold!

Excellent advice there from Keiss - thank you so much for keeping the potting shed manned. :)
