    Hi Pippi
Max is just amazing, you wouldn't know she'd had the stroke. She's just been getting fussed over by the water meter reader (male) who she seems to have taken a fancy to.
I've just been out in the garden with her and can't believe the number of things that are starting to grow or never died back.I also keep finding the sweet Pea seeds in an envelope in the fruit basket (where else would they be)
and must send them to you.

Hya folks, what wonderful conversations on here...wouldn't have expected anything else though!! Pressure cookers are wonderful things, still have one that we got as a wedding present 28 years ago!! I use it for marmalade and jam making mostly these days...so will probably be using it this weekend I expect, as it's Seville orange time :j.

Been invigilating all day, well, I did have a gap of a couple of hours in the middle of the day. I did some knitting in the car...after a nice walk round the local park, what a gloious day!! Sorry to those of you with nastier weather. :o

You are right greeval, everthing is waking up early this year, or hasn't even died back yet. We are still eating fresh raspberries off the canes!!! Found a mass of greenfly on some plants too  all the ladybirds have gone into hibernation though, might try and find a few. But I don't want to wake them up just in time for the proper wintery weather we (hopefully) will be getting.

Need to get off the 'puter and sort out what I need to take to my Quilting group's meetig tonight. We are learning how to do Transfer Painting..need to remember an apron, it's aparently quite messy!! Old jumper too then! ;)

Have a good everning everyone x

I was in London for a meeting this afternoon and walked WITHOUT MY GLOVES ON :j, I remember wearing them 1 day in August last year :rotfl:. Then I sat OUTSIDE and had a coffee :T. Bizarre, but very welcome :D

    hi all.....
I dont know if any of you gardeners have heard this tip... Was given it today by a sweet old dear...

If planting roses, put a banana skin in the hole before planting it... The potassium it contains is meant to help the rose...

I hope this is true.. am sure Pippi will tell me off if wrong...lol

Morning all, yet another busy day for you Pippi.

Just noticed our camelia is flowering! Not that unusual, but this one usually only gets it's first flowers around Valentine's day!! There are half a dozen flowers out already, with a100 or so more to come (not as many as in previous years as I cut it back by half last spring). Still have my Sasanqua calmelia flowering at the front too - lovely scent. It's been flowering its socks off since October! Need to feed it though as the leaves are yellowing slightly, will give it a pot of tea to help it in the meantime (tea is acidic and in the camelia family)!!

Bananas skins are wonderful things. I am using bits of one each night to try and get rid of the numerous warts I have on my right hand (thanks mum!). I use it with tea-tree oil and cover with plasters and micropore tape overnight. It's a slow process, but is definitely working!! Been through loads of other gubbings as well as getting the doc to freeze them off...that only made them multiply! It would work faster if I could have the skin taped on all day as well as night, but I have so many warts that most of my hand gets covered, which means I can't really use it for much when all wrapped up. Might have a go for days I am home all day.

Right, need to get things done this morning, more invigilating this afternoon.
