Hiya All.....
Hello :hello:
And Happy New Year to All that I didnt sit up until 2.30am with :rotfl:
Nor did I
Well My Dear Pippi... I hope you will be proud of me.. tonight I have sat and cut up Christmas Cards to use for shopping lists etc.. And also managed to do something I had been putting off... I also got last years cards out and cut them up too!! That was a wee bit emotional...
Wik, I don't know you like I know Pippi, but I know thats got to have been really difficult. Take your time ...
Ohhh and before I cut up this years cards I made a list of who sent this year
I do that! The results have been surprising this year.
Managed to do a cunning grocery shop in Mr M's - which meant I got 6p off a litre of fuel voucher ...
Also got some well reduced meat - which has been casseroled
Along with a small loin of pork joint that was £2.47!! and cut into 4 nice slices to be grilled
I am learning!!!
wik xx
Good stuff! I'm going bargain hunting this afternoon myself...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
<waves to wik>
((hugs for cutting up last year's cards))))))) must have been hard for all of you
Well done on the shopping!
Pippi - I've got a slightly stalkerish confession to make... Well, three actually... yesterday I made your sconesbut put cheese and home grown (dried) rosemary in them - they were fab
Today I'm planning on making tomato and basil sauce from the basil I rescued from the supermarket after seeing you do it, and the tomatoes that I grew in the garden that you sent, and that I then froze, like you do, til I had the time to do something about it.
All good, frugal things, can't blame me for those
But I also, er, not sure I've told you this yet, made a small replica of your dog to give Mr Daffs for Christmas:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We loved having him round so much and often talk about him, but aren't in a position to have a dog of our own right now - so now we have Peedie 2, who has lots of the original Peedie's mannerisms, and is extremely cheerful, and spends a lot of time napping on the sofa
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Oh dear, so sorry! Will try not to copy any more of your life today, honest0 -

Re chicken bones - they go really soft when I use my pressure cooker to make stock (30-40 mins at pressure). So soft they can be crumbled by hand. They don't go soft with normal boiling btw, only after pressure cooking.
Also, the calcium will dissolve out of the bones if you use a bit of acid - I chuck in the juice and rind of a lemon, but the bones still go soft without the lemon - the pressure cooking is the main thing, if you don't want lemony chicken stock. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

All this talk of dissolving bones has me worried!!! When some of you start posting about missing 'OH's and well blooming and bountiful gardens we shall know whats been going on...lol
