That sounds lovely! To be honest, Christmas Day itself was just okay - a tradition I have, for instance, is to go for an hour's walk on Christmas Day, because my mum's asleep, and to be sat watching tv all day, including hours by myself, would be awful. The walk goes through fields and I have a view of the pine forest where the red squirrels live, so it *is* pretty good!

Boxing Day was absolutely fantastic - my brother, his adult kids and their partners/wives, and his little grandchild (about your DD's age, I think). Proper slap up Christmas meal, it was great. And a more distant family visit the next day, people who phoned on the off chance and it was do-able.

    sounds lovely KC.

We had Christmas dinner in our own house this year. We've always either gone to my parents or the in laws (depending which part of the country we're living in :D ) but this year we decided to do it ourselves. Didn't work out exactly as we wanted as by the time we'd got back from church DD and DH were hungry but none of the veg/potatoes were ready. So we had leftovers from the buffet we'd had the night before for lunch then had our Christmas dinner in the evening. My mum was not impressed when I told her what we'd done as "Christmas dinner should be at lunchtime" but it really suited us with church and the 2 little ones so we may do it this way again [STRIKE]next[/STRIKE] this year (oops)
