    Ooh, pesky kids!

Been trying to decide whether to just stick my cards in the recycling bin or do something a bit more creative - kept a load last year then didn't do anything with them. Might try and make some cards/ postcards soon-ish so I don't end up doing the same again :rotfl: The rest might end up being colourful shopping lists before they get recycled... :)

I was thinking the ones that were just wintery scenes would be good for sending little notes or popping in with parcels. Or just confuse people by sending Christmas ones from summer holidays lol

Postcards traditionally could be anything including photos taken of families in the local photographers as it was cheaper to send just a postcard rather than anything else. Its just now its only beach scenes etc we see.

Lots of recycled bags mangled up and into car - aim to use NO plastic non recycled carrier bags this year - if I don't have a bag/basket - I can't buy it (we'll see if that works)

Come to Wales for a holiday and this will soon be second nature. We now get charged 5p for every carrier bag you use so everyone here has those foldaway bags in their handbags and car boots full of bags for life ready for shopping. The big supermarkets gave away free bags for life just before the law came in and one shop sells huge jute bags for 25p. Bargain. Nearly everyone you see doing a big shop has one!

Thats absolutely right - some of the photos we've got from the early 20th century of working class marriages in Liverpool, have postcard outlines on the back.

I'm recycling most of my cards as usual (or taking them to M&S, cos not only do they get recycled, M&S donate to the Woodland Trust) but I'm cutting out a few of the unusual ones - there are a couple with outlines of reindeers, for example - I can put that on a collage or a plain paper one and make a really spiffy card.

Hey up me dear - happy new year to you too and I think everyone answered your question which wasn't silly at all! And, thank you to all of you I've more ideas now too!

I got the post card idea from a chum who always cut up all cards she gets throughout the year of everything from flowers to xmas cards and now and again you'll get a letter or a parcel from her with one of them written all over on the back - brilliant use for them! I just think its nice - I do like to use everything up that comes in and now I've got more ideas from you all!:A

KC thank you for the M&s tip - Mr T's use to do that too - but after starting it up here - they aren't anymore.

Morning to you all. Today - womble work, a cuppa with a chum, tidying up and getting ready for a whole day tomorrow of womble land.

Banks to do in a mo
Chicken to rubberise - already boiled up the carcass for stock/soup.
Chickens fed and scraps in slow cooker
HC done overnight and needs to be hung up on airer
Need to a bit of baking to make 'treats' in the cupboard

DD - cracked me up - she gave OH a 'this card entitles you to 3 free home made cakes' - knowing OH's penchant for cakes - this has made him really happy - the funny bit was that she put a tick box under each cake sign so he couldn't fleece her for more!:rotfl::rotfl:

(LT your lovely craft bag to her is really in use almost everyday!)

Off for a cuppa and a tidy round!

    Have a good un everyone:money:

  • starnac thats great - Ireland is the same - once you have to pay for them you really think - my intentions are great but I'm often caught out by reduced stuff but not having any bags in the car - the bags have to stay in the car now!

    :)

And, I love Wales and haven't been for ages so watch out you and Mrs M - you never know if I get this pesky van ready............:)

"Chicken to rubberise". .thought you were doing something odd to your chickens there, though I suppose it would keep them dry in this weather.. :D

    Loving the cake voucher :rotfl:
