Our mini strawberries are coming lovely now although once again I doubt any of them will make it inside the house as DD has spotted them and has already picked and ate ALL the red ones! She has also counted how many are half red and how many are green so she knows to go back and check them in a couple of days.

Rodders the pup likes strawberries and helps himself to those in the garden. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able to tell the difference between red and green until after he has picked them. The green ones get left on the path :(

Good luck with finding somewhere closer to civilisation Pippi, will it have room for a polytunnel? Or will you not need it if you aren't in such an isolated spot?

Starnac if it's sweet you can add citric acid or more lemons....

Funny you should say that. It was smelling very lemony so I took some lemons out in case it tasted too lemony!!! Doh! :rotfl:

Found this interesting cordial recipe, never heard of it before so I'm going to try it..Black current and nettle cordial

    http://www.thebarefootcrofter.com/2012/06/nettle-and-blackcurrant-leaf-cordial.html

I love the barefoot crofters blog........

Might check that out. I have just acquired a black current tree/bush whatever with 2 whole blackcurrants about to ripen. I could go ad with cordial :rotfl:

:j Hurrah Pippi - sounds brilliant - bravo!!!

Make sure that you now turn your attention to 'adventurising' with loved onesand leave thinking about finding storage for 'stuff' etc etc until you get back - it'll all come right in the finish!

We had a phone call today cancelling our holiday :( The campsite is waterlogged and as more rain is forecast, they are worried that they'll end up with a bog garden (albeit one that J. Clarkson Esq et al have driven their 4x4 over a few hundred times) rather than a tranquil oasis of a campsite. Ho hum, oh well. We'll find something else to do instead - it may well prove a blessing in disguise. I was struggling to get enthusiastic about this trip tbh - dunno why, as I realise we're lucky to even be considering a holiday.

Anyway, I'm away to watch the footy, hope I've not jinxed things, as I've done HM pizza and pasta for tea, and we've some Italian wine for accompaniment........ Better go and put my 'Bobby Moore' England top on to redress the balance :rotfl:

Thanks guys. I just felt broken and battered here.

    Now I'm nervous but releaved.

Greying your holiday - eek poor you. I'll promise I'll keep adventurising. Good luck, hadn't realised there was football on, no tv, miss everything!

Speaking of holidays we've just done a last minute deal to a sunny med island :-) leaving soon - hurray we might see that yellow thing........!

Lu hope youve not washed away? Changes indeed, something will work out and the wellies will be firmly at hand new hoose is 3 seconds from the beach and common and hills. :-) hopefully I can keep the chooks nearby....Unless I can sneak them into womble land?

Starnac, I wouldn't dare, hope you're less soggy.....

Tea here is 'the 10p lady' surprise bake (10p spring onions, 15p reduced cheese, 10p skimmed milk, 19p potatoes (bit extravagant) and a lob of ham in ) - frugal bungalow potatoe bake or tarteflette if you want be posh.

Srerved with, you've guessed it 10p bread.

I guess it should be the 64p surprise bake........

Smells ace and perfect *winter* fodder..........
