Morning all!
All this talk of money & debt - you've guilted me into examining June's budget - after last month's high of paying off one of the cc's, this month will be more down to earth as my train/bus pass for 11 weeks cost £650:eek: and went straight on a credit card with promises to make weekly payments! - It's a case of needing the pass to get to work and needing to work to pay for the pass! (and the food and the shelter of course!)Pippilongstocking wrote: »Frog lady - £190

Not sure I get this one - I'm more of a binary being myelf - either have firm plans or no plans at all!:rotfl:It's either obsessive compulsive or wing-it! - shades of grey is a very alien concept!
Have a happy day all - here the sun is finally shining though warmth seems a long way off!

Hi RT! Oh my word, thats a lot of money for travel ... now that I don't have my fortnightly trip to London, I only have the odd trip to see my business partner, or to a committee meeting, or a seminar
I'm very lucky to have that!
Otherwise, business as usual - wish we had two bank holidays every week tho2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi there RT - ouch to the travel pass!
I'm quite fluid in my planning rather than black or white as I am not sure what I can/can't acheive. If that makes any sense?
Today womble land and then a bit of site gardening - waiting for a contractor so have feet up at work (!)
Might even go out for a meal tonight.........
Hope you're all good - no more pad's for the moment as I'm still watching money like a hawk - DD's out tomorrow and WTFC in tomorrow so hopefully they'll all work out OK.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hey up all! :hello:
Karmacat - how nice to 'see' you. Hope you and Kittikins (and MrsMoo2U) have dry feet despite the recent downpours.
Pippi - appropos of nothing that has been discussed here lately, but bearing in mind the Slow Food mantra of 'seasonality, seasonality, seasonality' and bearing in mind your anticipationof the 'flowering of the elder', I was wandering through some old posts on MSE and came across this recipe and thought of you.
I know you are not a fan of c.a.k.e, however, I figured if it was another way of 'preserving' the cordial* (I'm thinking make the c.a.k.e and then freeze it) then it could extend the season a bit. And perhaps lovers of the cakey stuff 'n cordial would be forever indebted to you..........:rotfl:
Anyway, it'd certainly be a good entrant for any 'local 'n seasonal' cooking comps that SlowFood may put on
Hope all is well for everyone. Off to watch the footy.

Well barring any ridiculus overexhuberant pads I'm ok for the dd's. Phew.
Chasing up invoices today and tackling extra hours worked.
Various meeting and possibly a bit of paid gardening if I'm quick between meetings.
And a stealth attack on a couple newly flowering elders I've spied :-)
I may need my balaclava :-)
Wish me luck.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Good luck on the elder flowers pippi. I just noticed this morning that my mums neighbour has an elder tree in her garden which is flowering so I asked my mum if she would ask them if I could take a few.
Things seem to have calmed down with you now. Hope all is good?Goals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000 -
Morning all - hey up starnac
Lifes certainly calmed down significantly - funding application almost finished ( a bit of tweakign to do) and the teachings stopped for this year - although I said I wouldn't do it again - I have signed up for next year but in the early spring when lifes not so hectic.
I hope you get the elderflowers - it only takes a few heads to make a nice brew - I gathered 5 yesterday so I'm making a quarter batch!
Its that nice.
Exciting news here is that I got one of my invoice cheques yesterday so need put that in the bank todayTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hello again! Hi Pippi, Greying and all
I didn't realise you could do something with only 5 heads ... there are loads round here, maybe I can do something on Sunday ... I lurve the sound of that recipe, I've clicked the link and I'll save it in a mo
Life is good here - I just yesterday made my first batch of kombucha, completely experimental, I've no idea if it'll go well. I'll put it nearish to a gas ring this evening for ten minutes (erm, while the gas ring is on!), and at other times I'll put the slow cooker on, put a towel over it, and sit the brew on top of that. I wouldn't leave it alone like that tho
Otherwise, I'm just catching up on the garden - weeding, and cutting grass, and chopping back a buddleia that overbalanced onto a fence - between minor lurgies, and minor ops (two this year!!! I disapprove intensely :rotfl:) its really not great, but I'm getting there - in fact, Pippi has given me some ideas for eventually selling little baby plants on ebayit wouldn't be many, but it would be really something!
