Sock pairing sweatshop Starnac I love it - we have one of these here - we use to go for 'sock hunts' too - much fun tryign to find all the escaping socks.
Its revolting here today - just horrible. Got soaked just trying to walk puppy up the track. Bleurgh.
Emptied car of food shopping done last night - but back so late - left it for today.
I like unpacking food shopping, somehow very satifying and thankfully I got 10+ loaves of bread (reduced between all the shops) so the freezer stash in looking healthy again. ANd, alot of reduced meat etc - all good for the storecupboard which is also groaning empty - so I got lots of dry stuff too - basmati rice £1.40 ( when did that get so pricey for value stuff?), normal rice 45p - whilst I prefer basmatic - we got a mix of both as at £1 less in cost - I'm not being picky.
SOYA mince up AGAIN - £1.74 now for a large packet in Mr T - ev every things getting so pricey.
But phew to the cupboards being fuller again.
Womble land - then pick up son from airport and hear his news and then DD back home (probably need a lift in this) but I dont think I can get her as I'm in work.
She's playing for the next 4 nights so it will mean a late trip into town to collect her (no buses) but I might insist she gets the bus in but I'll take her to the local village.
Better get a wriggle on todays work attire will take a while to put on and wriggle into waterproofs. Bleurgh winter weather in summer, not fun.
Got to organise DD's EMA today (£30/week for staying at school) and phone dad about thier flights to make sure I organise our holiday properly.
I've also got to do banking etc and see where we are.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Weather was atrocious here too, though the rain stopped mid-afternoon, so I managed to get two loads of washing out and mostly dried. Have storm pegs, so they stayed on the line

Morning all! :hello:
By eck Keiss you were up late. Hope you've had a restful night.
I hope MrsMoo2U is ok - just heard of serious flooding/atrocious weather in that neck of the woods currently.
Hope everyone else has a great weekend, whatever you're up to. By the way, starnac has your BB done with his teething yet? I hope he's a full set of nashers and is full of grins for his ma!

No chance!! He's full of the signs -dribbling, grumpy ness, changes in bottom end activities (sorry tmi), rash, chewing everything, but still only got 2 teeth. I can see white one side of one of the teeth already there so it can't be long before it breaks through especially the way he bites everything but nope! He's holding onto them for as long as possible!
I should be grateful he's got 2 already. DD was nearly a year old before she had any!!
Hope everyone is okay this morning. I think I can see the sun hiding behind the clouds :T I hope so as we've been invited to a BBQ later. Only me and the kiddies going though as DH is working. Really could have done with the moral support as the people hosting the BBQ really annoy me sometimes. They are very much "ooh look at me" and it winds me up. It's their daughters 16th which is why they are having a party and I just know they are going to spend the afternoon going "show them what you had.......that cost £50 you know........that was £200........And then that was £300........well then we had to get the boy something so that was another £1m!!!!!" you get the idea. The kids are just as bad too. Obviously I've got the daughter a little something for her birthday. She has dropped major hints that all she wants is money. Well I can't afford to put money in her card so I've got her a little something instead. I just know she'll open it straight away and if she doesn't like it (or thinks its a bit small!) she'll tell you and then complain to everyone about it  I'd be mortified if my kids were like that! DD has been taught to appreciate anything she gets no matter how small
We're only going out of guilt. They haven't got many friends so there will be hardly anyone there and the daughter loves DD and DS and really wants them there. Roll on this evening when it's all over.

Ahh Starnac - I think your last sentence sums it up though, they've possibly alienated folk with how they are.
Well done you for being kind hearted and going anyway. I'm afraid I'd of declined. Still, your two kiddies will probably have a nice time - I hope so anyway.
And believe me, we're in no doubt that you're raising your children to be kind, considerate and sociable. It'll pay dividends in the long run, they'll have truer and better relationships throughout their lives - and be able to cope with what life brings.
Anyway, sermon over - as you were :rotfl:

Morning all - sorry i've not been around for a while - can't remember if i posted but we went on hols, were exhausted when we came back
and then the computer broke and it was so fiddly posting on my phone i read more than posted - But i am back now
It might be lunchtime but i am just pondering breakfastand then thinking of all i need to do today - nothing exciting just organising, listing stuff on the bay of e to try and get the pennies in
Plus i really need to move the clutter which is hard work as the house is still in chaos whilst we're awaiting a job being finished
Starnac - hopefully today will be one of those occasions where you aren't looking forward to going to this party but you'll then end up having a fab time - hope so anyways. And i, as am sure others, know people who are like this about money always bringing up what they've got, what things cost, what their children have and what it costs - i've gone past finding it dull to finding it really irritating to be honest and was feeling guilty for feeling like this too
And on the weather front - its pouring it down here too - very much a day for me to stay indoors i think. I do like to get out in the rain actually but i'm very tired today and have a bit of a sore throat starting too so don't want to encourage that any!
Hope all are well xx
