Good morning everyone.
It's a cold and frosty start to the day here, although the park looks beautiful with the sun shining on the frosted grass. Last of the storm damaged trees was taken away yesterday, there were so many of them!
So far today, 1 WM done and a second on. Critters fed (and thanked me by leaving a calling card right in the middle of my windows!) Woke early when the 2 resident swans chased an "intruder" away. They were all moving so fast they sounded like a boat going along!
Went for a really nice Indian meal at quite a posh restaurant on Thursday (thank you Mr Boss!). The Naan breads were out of this world so have to have a go at making some. My favorites were made with dried fruits and cardomon, seriously yummy!
But better still were the drapes they had in the windows, beautiful bronze and gold silk or silk like material. It suddenly clicked, after months of puzzling, that is the colour combination I need in my Living room window. Now, I just have to work out how to do it without it costing me a fortune.
Back later, have a great day everyone. Hope all ill folk of any size are feeling better.

Am cooking sausage and bacon baguettes at the moment for the men in the family. The 2 DSs are off on the bus to Worcester to visit friends and later when we've done all our jobs me and DH are decorating the hall and stairs.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

What about you and others?
When I first joined MSE I was sitting at the pc trying to think of a username when I spotted my son's Pink-winged stick insects. If I'd known that I was going to spend so much time on this site, I would have tried to think of a more interesting name.taplady wrote:dlb - I have some of those handwarmers and they're great! my hands go completely numb when out in the cold even with gloves on.Its a shame that they only last about an hour though
My handwarmers were a life saver earlier this week.....put them in an old pair of socks, knotted them together and hung them over ds's head when he had earache. They really seemed to help him, but he did look daft!

My user-name sort of developed as a result of a drunken night in the Arms. And because I like F1 racing and was cheering on Ferrari at the time.

Morning :hello:
PP - glad you are feeling happier this morning
and way to go DD!
arkonite_babe - Happy Birthday!
To those who were wondering where peoples usernames come from (and I know I've posted this before, but there are soooo many new posters since then) - mine came from my rich ex who seemed to think my constant bargain-hunting was rather sweet  and nicknamed me Bargain Roozle (it's a bit of a long story where the Roozle part came from!). In our emails I signed myself Rzl as an abbreviation, so when I signed up for MSE, Bargain Rzl seemed the obvious choice
Incidentally I'm still on good terms with said ex, the nickname is still in use, and I don't see him making fun of me when my bargain hunting works to his advantage (like yesterday when I got us two tickets for a comedy gig for £6.50 each
)
AussieLass I PM'd you my contact details so I think I'm waiting for you to get in touch with me once you're over here
Anyway, I am having a slow start to the day as I normally do on Saturdays. I will have some cereal in a mo and get dressed. Need to get the bus into Lewisham to go to the fruit and veg market, and while there I will also have a look in TK Maxx (there are a few odds and ends for the flat which I am on the lookout for - today's list includes a wall-mountable coat rack - I am sick of hanging my coat on the edge of the living room door!)
Lunch will be a portion of one of the things I cooked in the last couple of days (either turkey & veg pasta or mushroom risotto) then this evening I am going to a party. It is in theory a 30th birthday party but it is doubling as a housewarming party. It's in a corner of London which is a bit awkward to get to from here - but I'm sure I'll manage
Must be off now
Rzl xx

morning everyone,
Haven't read all of yesterday's post yet but will do so later. Happy Birthday Arkonite Babe and safe journey Aussie. My neighbours are currently in Sydney (they go every second year) and I know how much they hate the long journey so I hope you have lots to occupy you! Have a fab time while you are in the UK and of course tell us all about it.
Yesterday was an interesting day. I finally got round to reading Martin's weekly e-mail and noticed the part about the Mortgage Exit Administration Fees. After reading it, I made a quick phone call to the Halifax and I will be £100 richer in about 28 days time. :j Then logged on to Pigsback to find I had an extra £5 in points as the reward had finally come through for stuff I had ordered yonks ago. They say these things come in threes, don't they? Wonder if I should buy a lottery ticket?
DS, DD and I are heading into town then I think we may visit the park as they don't want to go hill-walking today, lazy little so-and-sos. Have a super Saturday. xx
Edited to say: Looby-loo so sorry to hear of your news. My thoughts are with you and your friend's family."Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."
