Big DD News!!!! DD got the bus home by herself yesterday for the first time ever:eek:   Im so proud of her:D ...plus she didnt get beaten up for wearing a blazer grammar uniform whilst going past some of the rougher schools in the area:rotfl: ...instead she was talking to an old granny about MSE;) ...and chckensShe has asked if she can go by bus each friday and will text us if she wants to do another day. All travel here is free for under 16 so another bonus!
OH is feeling a tad better and is putting up 2 shelves in the laundry room for storage, something else which I cant remember and at least one of the difficult tiles in the kitchen. He planted 3 fruit tree/bushes yesterday:D

Morning everyone.
Looks cold and frosty outside.
ds1 footy match today, so need to reactivate the hand warmers, they are a god send for dd as she only gets upset when shes cold and she loves the hand warmers.
Really need a win today, ds1 team in joint 1st place in the leauge and we are playing the team in third place at the minute.
Dh who managers the team made me laugh, his end of training team talk was.
" No pressure this weekend lads, but we cant lose!!" No pressure there then!!LOL.
Right off for another cuppa and then tidy the kitchen
Take care and have a great day all

We are thinking about blowing the budget and going out for dinner. cant remember the last time we went out together.....must be literally years!!! if we go out that will give the girls a wee bit of time without us breathing down their necks. hopefully the house will still be standing when we get back.x x x0 -
Good morning all, its lovely and frosty outside!
Happy birthday Arkonite Babe.
Congrats to PP's daughter and madmels DH.
(((hugs))) to skystar and anyone else who needs/wants one.
Hope everyone has a lovely Saturday, I will be doing lots of housework as needless to say Moggins, I haven't followed this weeks flylady - but rest assured I will spend half term following it!
Felt guilty going out last night, DD3 was rolling around in agony with Stomach ache (the one with the throat infection!) So DH told me to still go out and he took her to the hospital to get checked out. She has swollen glands in her tummy - something to do with the infection and so is okay, I just wanted her checked to make sure it wasn't anything else. Felt better when he phoned to tell me.
The night out wasn't too brilliant. Another friend had had a birthday (new to the group) so the others decided not to pay for two birthdays - I overheard one say it and I would have felt bad if they had paid for mine and not the other girl - so I said don't bother, don't worry about it and paid for my own dinner. This was fine (I was glad I took my money - another girl had said not too as it was their treat - that would have been embarrasing!) but not one person said happy birthday - I know its the 14th feb - but it would have been nice as i never see anyone locked away in the nursery department at school.
Anyhow, rant over - chinese was nice!
Hope everyone has a good weekend and congrats to anyone celebrating anything.
Good luck to all LO's playing football today!
catch you all later xxBBxx
Edit - Moggins and Pink-winged - Hope your LOs are feeling better today! If you don't have something nice to say don't bother saying anything at all.0 -
Morning all
Sorry I haven't been on for much of this week, but it's been really busy at work. Is it only me, or when I come online I seem to easily spend an hour just surfing MSE, it's so distracting!
I meant to get up at 0630 today, made 0730. I was really worried I wouldn't be able to sleep last night, I was grinding my teeth during the day (not a good sign)....and it was gone midnight before I hit the sack. Luckily I got to sleep just after 1am.
I'm up in the smoke this weekend to spend some time with my new male *ahem* friend. We're off to London Borough Market which should be a lot of fun and I've heard that the 'gerkin' building is open to the public this weekend so I hope we can pop there as well.
But first, I have work to catch up on. I've started using Outlook Journal to record the actual time I spend working, at work (you know, not chatting with friends, 'popping' on MSE etc.) and it is scary! Yesterday I was at work for 9 hours, but only achieved 7!!! Anyone else ever recorded their time accurately? Or is it just me....who probably needs to get out a bit more often IYKWIM
AussieLass - hope the flights are ok, looking forward to meeting you next week.
((((hugs)))) who haven't slept well, you guys are amazing keeping going on such little sleep!
((((hugs)))) to those who need them, gosh Skystar, relatives can be a bit much sometimes, can't they?
Happy birthday a_b :j
Mmm, Quasar, translating what recipes? Sounds like a good idea!
Right, so much for starting work at 0730...I'd better get on with it!
Have good weekends all

Good morning everyone,
Well, my early night didnt work - still kept waking up, and im still feeling grotty this morning. Had to get up early as DS has football in a bit, dlb - they are also doing well, havnt lost a match (i think they have drawn 2) since last February - so they really are a team to beat - and its the re start of their league today so off we go to the cold, muddy field, i could really do without it this morning.
I also have 2 mystery shops to do today, so hopefully will get them done quickly later, so i can spend the afternoon in the warm not doing much.
Hope everyone has a lovely day,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ARKONITE-BABE
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning Everyone:D
Happy Birthday Arkonite Babe!
CM - yes steam generator irons are a god send arent they! i love mine.
The kids made their usual fairy cakes last nite, they love decorating them with the sprinkles, sugar flowers, but the chocolate beans didnt taste v.nice so will stick to smarties in future!
but they always want those packet Thomas cakes, which are the same thing ony with a little sticker on the top - can you buy those stickers does anyone know??
Also had a go at choccy chip muffins for DS1 - I used the Dinner Lady recipe - they are ok but look more like a scone top instead of the soft muffins im used to seeing. Think I will do the banana muffin recipe thats on here (which are great) they use self raising flour and the dinner lady uses plain flour?
so maybe thats the difference in taste/texture?
Got my new saucepans yesterday from QVC - abit annoyed cos the Judge Vista ones in R.Dyas are now reduced evenmore to £39! - although they dont have the non-stick coating inside - so I am happy with mine - but not the price difference:rolleyes:
Have gathered all my feng shui stuff ready for my "cleansing" session:D
thanks kethry - i did indeed get the incense in wilkinsons plus an incense burner! they had so many sticks to choose from though!!!
pp - glad your DD got on ok on the bus!! it is a worry when you have to start letting them go alone isnt it!
aussielass - look forward to seeing your pictures later and seeing you next week - The sun is shining now so you might want to pack your hotpants afterall!!:D
Hope everyone has a great saturday:wave:0 -

Happy Birthday a_b :bdaycake:
I hope all the littlies are feeling better today
I haven't been sleeping properly for ages, I hate taking any type of medication but by teatime yesterday I felt awful so I took some sleeping tablets last night. I slept even less than usual  My plan was - good night's sleep, get up around 9am, breakfast, long hot shower followed by lots of body lotion, quick hoover round downstairs, sort the washing then make some cards. Settle in front of TV for 3 hours (yes 3 HOURS) of CSI with an Admiral's Pie and a big bag of minstrels for pudding
Instead, I was up at 5.45am - looking about 10 years older than I actually am - and making a cuppa and pouring rice krispies into a bowl was very hard
work
Tru, but this really made me laugh. It also made me feeel not so alone.lol
I have been up since around 5.45,curtesy of captain chaos, Ds age 4! Like Tru , i had this marvellous plan of sleeping a bit longer. Fat chance of a lay in! Dd is unwell so i am not sure whether we will be going anywhere today. Fancied popping into town to browse the £ shop and take the children to buy a comic from Wh smiths, so will see how dd feels later.
Yesterday`s tidying up and decluttering was in vain as the viewers didnt come and i got an email late yesterday evening saying they couldnt find us but strangely enough they managed to find another house and are exchanging. (This was for a mutual exchange)!! So i basically wasted a day on them for nothing, bonus is the house looks better than it normally does and i can "relax" more this week-end. Dishwasher needs unloading and reloading. I have as usual stacks of washing. Apart from that, i dont intend doing much else as the house was done top to bottom yesterday. Have a good week-end every-one, Hugs to every-one whether you want one or not.Hope all the unwell feel better soon.Love Elaine x“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. Morning all!
A cold and frosty one here this morning. The little one is feeling much better this morning and is spectacularly lively for this time of morning, even by his standards! After spending the last two days doing not much else but play with him I need to spend some time on the house today. I don't understand why after only two days neglect it's competely blitzed. Anyway, off to watch Ds1 play rugby this morning, so the house will have to wait...
Aussie, have a safe journey....looking forward to seeing you next week.
Hugs for all who've had a bad night.
Happy Birthday arkonite babe.
Have a good weekend everyone.
