Woody is a Bearded Dragon, a lizard but very different to an Iguana in many ways. He's an easy going laid back chap as long as he's fed on crickets and fresh veg, and kept at about 30 degrees C day time. Does enjoy the occasional treat of other insects. His set up cost a lot, about £600 for all of the equiptment, you can buy cheaper but it's not the right stuff as many buy. He's very placid most of the time, gets annoyed occasionally and he puffs his beard out which I find hilarious! Did it when he fell off his branch earlier, I think he thought someone pushed him.
CTC - sounds great, like them myself aswell, usually see a few near me, couple were out the other day I think they seen the sun and brought them out.One day I might be more organised...........

My son would love turtles, he likes Mud Turtles. We have a great shop up here, which is where I rely on for advice etc http://www.britnett-carver.co.uk/c2c/ many of the staff are qualified in herpetology. Woody and my old snake Tye (died last year) were both rescue cases which they helped with. Woody was with 3 others and was the smallest (he's about 20 inches long) and getting picked on. Tye was in an awful state, stinking tank and thrown about by the owners kids, aswell as underfed and dehydrated. We had him 3 1/2 years before he sadly died. I would have more if I had the time etc, plus electricity isn't cheap for the heating and lighting they need. Something can't skimp on. Other than that he's cheap enough, £2.50 a week for his crickets, and odd ends of fruit and veg I have to make his veg bowl. Should see him when he's had strawberries, he loves them but ends up with a red face :rotfl: looks like he's wearing lipstick.
PS did you see the bit about ILVA ??? ^^One day I might be more organised...........

Thanks for all the hugs. They are so upset. I walked some of her dogs today, life goes on as normal for animals of course, in fact I brought two home for a while. Arrangements are made but have to be put in place.
penelope penguin were you an eco warrior at the Birmingham Northern relief road by any chance? My dad took food and other home comforts to the 'tree savers' as he called them every day for months. The road was built but he felt he'd done what he could.
ivyleaf - sorry to hear about your husband. My DH was turned down, his doctor was furious. Luckily he was able to go part ime.
moggins - have you thought about getting a second hand greenhouse? They are often to be found in the paper for about £30 - £50, buyer to collect. It's very easy to put together. Replacement glass can be bought quite cheaply;about £2 a sheet I think. I bought mine, 8' x 6', for £30 then spent another £30 on new glass, clips, screws and some slabs to rest it on. I'm taking it with me if I move.Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me0
