  • Now that all my credit cards apart from the 0% one has been paid off now, any money I make will be going into a savings a/c so that I can pay off the loans once I get the money available. Neither one has the option of partial repayments without penalty, but I'm confident I'll get rid of at least one within four or five months. Between saving money from my wages and freelancing, that's a good place to start. Anything I'll be recording from now on will be going to a savings a/c at another bank (one of the few still on the BACS system so I can't get quick access!)

I've got some funds on the way in from paypal, which I'll add in a few days.

Hope everyone is getting their plans for 2012 in order...fail to prepare etc!

Right I've read through and am loving some of the ideas on here.

Tomorrow (today) will review my finances ready to get started.

Never done a money saving challenge before - I am really hoping it will help me focus.

I may need a gentle kick up the derriere when I falter.:rotfl:
  • I would like to join please :) I have never done one of these challenges and my savings may be a bit up and down due to doing up the house but want a target to aim for to keep me going. Just got married in November so can finally start making some savings. Won't count the money we got from wedding because that is technically from 2011.

Just whacked some money into my savings account, let's see if it stays there! I'm better at saving when the money isn't in my current account.

Sometimes I tend to lurk on forums so I may not be a regular poster but will be reading everyone's posts and tips with much interest and comment and give tips if I can!

Had forgotten about my One Poll Account, so returned to that. Have £9.65 in there at the moment so quite a long way to go before I can withdraw that.

Sorted out ebay things some more last night, and all ready to be listed tonight.

Made lunch instead of buying a bagette at the cafe, so that stops me spending £3 (plus the temptation to buy a nice slice of cake too!)

Still no actual money rolling in yet but hope is ever present.

            Hi Elly

Please count me in. I started last year with the £11k challenge and managed to pay £9.5K of the mortgage - with lots of inspiration from the posters. Sorry I didn't stick with the web updates but I'll try to do better this year with a new computer!

So far saved 48.00 on quilts bought in the sale and earned 3.50 on a telephone mystery shop.

I'm going to count cash in, discounts and vouchers and anything I earn through mystery shopping - at the end of each month I intend to decide how much I can pay off the mortgage. Wil start by reading the thread and getting on with ideas.

            Many thanks

had a three offers on my sewing machine so far! I will take my time to think it through though! Just have some images to finish off for my new Etsy store; first day back at work and it was a bit of a slog today after a fortnight of afternoon naps, Poirot, Miss Marple, Midsomer Murders and food on tap well :(

          6. After getting around half of my target last year, I am upping my game this year. Really going to attack the credit card balances and save for a holiday. I only count cash and any vouchers once the money has hit my bank account, so will update my total every few weeks.

Had my first sale of the year on Amazon at the weekend and today had my first ebay sale and matched betting bonus of the year. Am owed some money for some mystery shops I did over the Christmas break as well, so that will all be going into the pot
