I think I am slightly obsessed with this challenge now haha! I haven't made much yet, just a few quid here and there, but I am staying really focused. I find thinking of 12k a bit daunting, yet if I think of 1k a month it seems more do-able somehow...

I have loads to put on ebay and gumtree, just signed up to do a spot of mystery shopping and surveys and I have only just discovered how fab cashback sites are! I am looking for a little job too, as pretty much anything I earn can be saved as the boyf earns enough to cover the bills etc. I just need to try and figure out how I can work without paying childcare costs. My partner works nights so isn't always available to look after our son, and I really cant expect him to go without his sleep! I wouldn't mind getting creative and making stuff for dosh, but I dont know what. I used to make tiaras and even had a go at baking but neither worked out. I was going to make some letters to spell out my little boy's name and decorate them with cath kidston fabric for his room...if they look good that may be an idea for etsy and folksy for a little bit extra.

    I'm well loving this! :D

A long way to go but enjoying the challenge! ;)

    Hi Guys,
I plan on saving using these tactics!:
    1. Get a better paid job
    2. Ask for overtime
    3. Take my own lunch to work - no more take-aways @ lunch
    4. Cut down on snack intake at work and home
    5. Do not go shopping during my lunch break
    6. Do not buy 'just in case'
    7. Use up my toiletries and make up first before buying new stuff
    8. I do not need new clothes rpt i do not need new clothes!!!
    9. Ebay my junk - there is a lot there and i'm moving to a smaller place.
    10. Leave my debit card with my fiance - i cannot spend it if i haven't go it with me!
    11. Sell unwanted dvds to CEXchange
    12. Any change i have in my purse that doesn't make a pound gets saved.
    13. Save any £2 coins i get.
    14. Have as many NSD (no spend days) as i can - set challenges each month e.g. 3 a week then increase it to 4 a week.
    15. Sell a kidney (joking!!!)
    16. Get through my back catalogue of books and magazines before buying anything else to read.

The hardest ones for me to implement are going to be 1,5,6,7,8 and 14 but i do like a good challlenge and so far i haven't spent anything for 3 days whoopee! Back to work tomorrow though so watch this space yikes!!!!

May I join in too. I have to do this this year. My mortgage will be going up in March by at least £200 a month so need to get serious now.

Have read a couple of pages. Have to dash out now but will read the rest asap - need to get some tips and ideas.:rotfl:
  • wow...what a day! I found an extra tenner in my purse so i put £5 into the pig, went to the shop and found another fiver in my pocket :) that also went into the pig, along with a handful of change that i found whilst tidying up. I had a few ebay auctions finish today and made the grand sum of.... £307  bloomin' chuffed with that but i wont count it until the funds are released after ive had my feedback/21 days. Still got loads to list though!

Well here we go. Happy New Year all.

So far this year I have set things in motion rather than have gained any actual cash, but its a start.

    1. Have applied to join a mystery shopping panel, waiting to hear if I'm accepted
    2. Was given a money box for Christmas, so all £2 coins will be there entered
    3. Have joined TCB
    4. Have had a sift through and found a few things to put on eBay
    5. Have opened an Etsy account, bought the materials (in sales) and have gathered all parts for my creative project (work, work, work)
    6. Am designing a meal planner - we seriously need to cut back on food shopping
    7. Have got an ISA, which now has a proud £1 in ! (well, its a start....)
    8. A friend repaid me £20 they owed me, I have hidden this in a drawer and if I manage to get to the end of January without needing it, this will appear in my ISA (not looking too hopeful at the moment but we can but hope)
To those who are given much, much is expected

        £2025 in 2025 = £680.60
          Food Budget £180/9.30.
            Fiver Friday #13 £35
