Hope everyone has lovely new years eve, looking forward to day one (officially) of the challenge tomorrow! Think I will kick off by counting all the pennies in my jar as it has a lot in, and preparing a spreadsheet to keep a record of everything in.

I think I will add the savings from my online boots sale order as they are for birthday and Christmas presents for 2012.

mooooooooorrrrrrrrrrning! who's over done it then?

well done mark! - you'll find that as you get into this challenge just about everything you do you will probably think about the money bit and become more aware of what your spending! not a bad thing (sometimes) and start looking for opportunities in everything you do!

busy day today so no hangover - have delivery to make after dinner tonight so that'll be more money in the pot! creeping up slowly

Elly will you be setting weekly challenges?

my challenge for this week is to list 5 things on ebay by wednesday(eeeeeeeek but has to be done!)
will wrap ready for posting as i list them as i hate the getting everything ready for the post office so while i've got the stuff out will get ready then its not so much of a chore.

  • Morning everyone and Happy New Year!!

I have got 15 items listed on ebay to start me off and I spent last night making things to sell on my other ebay where I have a shop.

I am also doing the £365 challange - saving £1 a day for the year but am going to try and put more in when I can.

  • Morning everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR! New year, new start and all that....

So i have been busy at work lately and applying for new jobs in the area, my lovely boyf has given me a tip-off about a job coming up in his company so application and cv uploaded and ready to fire it off when the vacancy goes live...! Ive been ebaying all night and this morning now that ive had my selling restrictions removed :)

Had some big facebook sales, which were great! its all cash as well, the temptation to spend it is soooo bad, havent had a chance to get to the bank yet... no idea of a total yet but from this day forward, all cash and money gets pooled into one account and i must stop spending!
    ;)

    Hi everyone,

I'm in for another year. I plan to include anything I can make or save including:

Monthly payments to my savings accounts.
Repayments to my account from a loan that a friend is repaying me.
Personal items sold on ebay (loads of books, clothes and bits to clear).
List items on the free notice board facility at work.
Declutter my house to do the previous two things.
Look to move utilities/services to make any savings and count saving.
Shop throughout the year for birthday/christmas presents at the best price available and count saving.
Look to reduce my food shopping budget.
Use up my toiletry mountain before buying anything else!!
Use vouchers/coupons where I can and count saving.
    Save and bank £2.00 coins.
    Save and bank 50p coins.
Squirrel away any loose change and bank.
Move the interest on any of my acounts to my savings (no matter how small).

The point of reducing my food and non food spend is I hope to increase my savings amount further. I'm sure I will think of more as this thread develops.

    Good luck all.
    Boots Card - £17.53, Nectar Points - £15.06 - *Saving for Chrimbo*

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERY1 XX

You def get wot you pay for where beds are concerned Elly (in my opinion) a sleigh bed sounds fab!
I printed off a few pages from the "organised home" website that somebody suggested...such simple ideas but will be a great help with the meal planning!

Have sold a couple of things on ebay that finish up today, should i wait until the buyer pays do u think???
Think i will count the penny jars too, that might keep DD2 amused at the same time.
