OK well I really wanted to get started so transferred £10 of the child benefit paid today into the "savings account" I have allocated to this challenge, just to get me off the block.
Whilst OH is out of work it seems pointless running 2 cars so OH is off to reclaim the tax and sorn my car. TBH we managed for a long time with one car, its just without the bigger car we can't all go out together (there are 6 of us). But mostly the teenager doesn't want to come shopping etc anyway and trips to grandparents can either walk or nip up on different times with a different set of kids (OH's parents are the ones not in walking distance so if all the kids want to go I can always stay at home).
Car is also due MOT so OH will get the bits sorted on it ready for that whilst it is off the road and he has the time. Then once he is back in work we will get the MOT and tax sorted from his first one or 2 wages.
So will try to puit some of the reclaimed tax into the pot later (if Oh doesn't grab it first lol).
Off to try to do some surveys and maybe some comps this afternoon.
Good luck EV1

I'd love to join you guys with this challenge! My initial aim was to save 6k, but what the hell, might as well aim a bit higher
lol! At the moment I am just ebaying and gumtreeing like mad. Got a lovely tax rebate too so will pop that into savings. Looking for a little part time job for extra cash....looking forward to the challenge.
Good luck everyone!!£170/£12,000

nikkita - if you are bursting to tell somebody something regarding the challenge or share an idea remember we're here, as it sometimes seems all you feel is a bit ridiculed and can loose heart a bit but that is where this thread is a boon - if it wasnt for the previous thread 2 years ago i wouldnt have even dreamed of starting a wee business and its now that some of the ideas i had back then are starting to kick in now. you'll probably find its probably march/april before you find your direction probably in a way you have no idea about at the moment.

I did my first ever mystery shop last night, all seemed to go well. I think I could get quite addicted but may put on weight if I choose too many food related jobs!!0

Skint - so agree with what you said I was made to feel like a nutter but dribs and drabs it does all start to add up, very quickly indeed at times - it is possible
And on the clothes front, just going to buy a small stock of about £30 (6 pieces) to start with. It is a good fashion brand that I very rarely see on eBay. But, I've learned small steps so I won't go crazy, there are also a few street markets near me where I can sell so feel quite confident
Other than that, can't sleep so just doing a few admin bits, searching for suppliers for one of my online projects and watching Spartacus.10K 2010 challenge £3202.59/£10000

hi dilli - cant sleep either - surfing the net to get ideas for bits and pieces, but should be in my bed as up at 5 to finish a cake thats getting picked up tomorrow - seem to be doing that just now up at the crack of dawn but get on much better when nobody about and so enjoy my wee nap in the afternoon! mind buzzing with ideas but am determined not to spend too much - have lots of stuff to make nappy cakes with but am getting bored of them(!) will keep doing them though and take a couple to the fair in March, but am gonna stop doing bespoke made to order - costs too much and not enough profit.
have now after 18months discovered how to best market my wee business and that was just by mistake! so will carry on with that and see how it goes and have ideas for expansion -hark at me - international business wuman!!!!!!lol have had a few orders for oversees and seems to be fine.
are you thinking of a market stall at the moment - what like are the prices for pitches with you?
roght away to my bed will get a whole 3 1/2 hrs sleep! catch you all tomorrow (today>) dont stay up too late!
night
