Well how odd, just after my post on here I got a phone call about one of my PPI claims and they are accepting my complaint and an offer is on the way!
Not going to count it in the total till the cash hits the account, but at least I know something is on the way. OH has had a few jobs come through from the agents so hopefully he will get something soon.

I also do comps, but am only going to count cash or items won and sold for cash then put away into savings toward our total.

I would love to join you all.

I am not going to put a value down but just try to do as much as possible.

I will count anything I can:
    Shop and scan
    Tesco, boots, sainsburys points
Money we get on American express cashback
Money saved on offset mortgage and by overpayments
Money saved when I buy things cheap
    EBay, car boots etc

    Quite excited now

hello everyone. Can i join please please??
Last year was a tough one due to bad health and lack of organisation! I need to lose approx 5 stone (docs orders) and accept that i have diabetes

So i suppose the plan is to lose lbs`s and save ££`s

I plan on selling on ebay/gumtree to raise money, hoping to d-clutter and take my mind off sugary food at the same time
Will be trying to be super-strict with what i am buying food wise hoping that,in turn,i am re-educating myself about eating

You sound like a great bunch, cant wait to get started x

  • Morning all :)

Feel quite happy I now have 2 out of 3 major projects finished. Just got a few more loose ends to tidy up and the largest project for me will be finished by 2nd/3rd of January so I can pace myself a bit. I feel quite chuffed as it is the first time in a long time I've been so organised.
    • I have some ink cartridges to send off to Boots so that is £5 in the kitty.
    • I also have an Brother sewing machine to sell off too so I hope to get £50 I am listing that today on eBay.
    • Considering whether or not to pick up some Xmas bits for 2012 from Paperchase as they tend to have gorgeous things in the sale, and it would be good but I'm giving myself a spending limit of £20.
    • I have found a cheap supplier of women's clothes so I am wondering whether or not to do some selling on the side for 2012. Who knows?
Also if I don't get to log on again - just want to wish everyone a prosperous new year and hope that everyone makes their target. 2012 here we come! :j

  • morning! hope everyone is keeping well, havent had much time to read back - gave up when i started reading about smelly socks lol! not been doing too much as been at real work! but have a couple of orders spread over this week and next so should bring in another £120 or there abouts. giving ourselves a budget of £110 per week to live on - petrol £15, Groceries £40, dinner money for kids £25, and have menu planned so hopefully it will work and anything left over will go in the pot!
am itching to go to the Auctions and start the buying and selling again but think o/h would have a floopy fit as the shed is full already with what he calls a load of carp, am also looking at trying to find a list of craft fairs to start getting stuff booked for the summer and have another couple of ideas half planned and kinda in the process.

elly - can you choose how many shifts and when for NHS24, sounds good if you can.
dilli - the clothes think may be a winner but how would you sell them - carboots they want everything for nothing and quite often on ebay there are quite a few people listing the same things as you can probably source - but maybe worth a try just dont get carried away to begin with!

right must move - away to poundland for a mooch round their gardening stuff - another idea - have an allotment and greenhouse is sitting empty so was thinking about doing planters and hanging baskets for the summer and booting them

by the way to all the newbies - you will probably find that you friends partners and o/h will think that you are off your chump taking this on, and will get little encouragement to begin with -IGNORE THEM- those of us who have done the challenge before have had it all too and its not until they see the benefits of it that they come round and think you're not so daft after all!!!:rotfl::rotfl:

  • I would love to join in with this :)

I have already got two small craft businesses on ebay and etsy but I have really neglected them lately and I have got a huge collection of fabric and other crafty stuff I can use to make stock for them.

I am also ebaying all unwanted treasures from around the house and I have a pushchair and high chair I can put on preloved. Today I have started putting some of books into Zapper and have got £14 worth already. I will also be counting my quidco cashback.

So excited to get going on this challenge, good luck everyone :D
