Living my life in fabulous shoes!

Oh £100 is quite a bit but then again, I do love 'stuff ' too; anything from a cheap nail polish or belt to some kitchen gadget or a magazine ... but yes, it does all add up
Have you ever tried having a monthly or weekly 'allowance' for stuff ?
I'm going to try to withdraw cash ( am a complete card junkie so this will be hard) every week & then live on that for all food, household & stuff.
I'm hoping that actually seeing the money disappear will help me to reduce the spending. Try cutting down the allowance each week or month & then put the amount you havent spent towards a debt0 -

It's a great idea :T
I just have to carry a card with me though 'in case of emergencies' .
I think you know the kind of emergencies that happen in my life though, it's usually of the ebay or shoe buying variety :rotfl:
I have £55.75p in my purse & that has to last me for groceries & 'stuff' until January 6th
We can do this
G'night

Have faced the scales - 12st 7lb
(my highest ever!). As I now have over 2 stone to lose I am considering whether it's time for a more 'formal' approach - Slimming World maybe? Anyway, have set myself a 2 stone target and put it in my signature - now I just need to decide how to tackle it?

Mmm Slimming World sounds like a plan Shoesy.
As for the cooking and food planning thing, this is the way forward! Keep a seperate grocery budget and plan ahead/batch cook at the weekend and you're sorted. You can do this x'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Hi Shoe Gal!
As with a few others on here I seem to have some similar goals to you and also struggle with keeping the cakes away from my gob :rotfl: So have subscribed to keep an eye on you and hopefully get some inspiration for myself!

One of my big areas for improvement is not meal planning/shopping sensibly - far too many Co-op/Tesco/Asda debits - in fact, almost daily! I also plan to cut my work lunches spending - allowing myself £10 per week for lunches and drinks (I know buying lunch is not very MSE but it forces me away from desk and into taking a break - but will definately take coffee/drinks in)
Anything else you can do to give yourself a break, or maximise what you take in? I know what you mean about having an excuse to escape the desk but I don't usually escape M&S unscathed. One thing that's worked OK for me is taking in really nice soup and then just popping out for fresh bread - even really posh soup is only £2 a pot, so half a pot plus a couple of fresh rolls is about £1.50 - not v cheap, but better than most bought sandwiches.
My bills have gone down hugely now I'm in the same office all week - was spending a fortune in Costa and M&S when I was running around, so being able to plan does help.

I try and have one nice lunch, so for me that is a wrap(oh the excitement!) and posh crisps (I am telling you I know how to live!) normally on a Monday cos they are crap and then cheap lunches (homemade pasta, well dried pasta boiled at home!!) or sandwiches till Friday when I have some thing nice again! works out cheaper then me constantly visiting Sainsburys each day.....although not the cheapest way better than super expensive.

As I only spend about £2 a day on a sandwich/jacket from the staff restaurant I'm Ok with it really, and not sure I'd save a massive amount taking my own lunches in? As we have a restaurant there is no fridge/micorwave etc. What I need to cut out/down is the extras - cake in the afternoon, cans of drink etcSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0
