glad you're sounding a bit more positive, long may your OH continue to help with the jobs you've asked of him, but try and find some time for yourself even if it's just for a bath or an extra long shower.

  • What are you like you two? Although I did notice last night that I'm getting dandruff - having never had it in my life I'm wondering why it's suddenly shown up. I'm neglecting my mse stuff a bit and am having withdrawl from not being on here properly for a couple of days, but unfortunately I'm quite run down. I can tell the stress is getting to me because I'm shouting at people left, right and centre (more than usual), and I have had 2 migraines in the past 3 days. It could well be time for me to go back to the docs myself.
I will be back though, I always am (like the Terminator)... hopefully properly tonight or over the weekend.

  • My head is a shed... I seem to have lost the ability to make a rational decision. I can't even decide whether or not to go back to the doctors at the moment. I feel ok but I know I'm not because it takes all of ten seconds for me to lose my temper with anyone who even looks at me the wrong way.
MSE is more important than ever at the moment now that OH is off on the sick because he only gets ssp. Last time he was off work he was off for 8 months and I ran up over 3 grand of debt. Obviously that can't happen now but I'm very aware of the drop in our income and the fact that our wedding fund may have to be used...
I introduced him to the delights of Ald! today. We had a good weekly shop there for a shade over £45, and he seemed quite impressed with the quality of stuff there. I just hope he doesn't go off spending the odd £10 here and there on alcohol which doesn't help him or the money saving.
I'm trying to be supportive but it's very hard when I have nothing left to give...

    i second that decision.

don't fret too much about the dandruff it's probably just stress i know i get it for that reason. My skin is the first to go whenever the stress levels rocket
  • I just read Martin's booklet about debt, depression and anxiety. Originally looking for ways to help out OH, but having seen it I've realised I'm in the burnout stage. So thanks for advice, I'm going to try and make myself an appointment tomorrow if I can find the time to ring them...
I'm actually quite ashamed about how I feel towards OH you know, but I can't help it. I know he can't either, but I just cannot feel any compassion for him at the moment, just anger towards him for doing this to us again... which I know is probably a reflection of my own state of mind.
Having said that, what exactly is the doctor going to be able to do for me? Short of waving a magic wand I don't see anything that can be done at the moment.
I went to put petrol in the car today and embarrassingly had my card rejected at 3 separate pumps. I knew exactly how much was in my account so I knew that wasn't the problem. Rang YB and it turns out they aren't able to process any debit card payments at all due to a technical fault which they are hopefully sorting by tomorrow. How helpful of them to suggest I use an alternative payment method like a credit card. I told them off for encouraging people into debt. Meantime I'm stuck being able to pay for stuff and the car needs some of that liquid gold pretty soon. :D
