  • Morning all :D

Officially the last day of my holidays today - back to work on Monday, and I still have a full set of books to mark. Will just have to get on and force myself to do it.
The news was very, very bad at fat fighters yesterday. I've put on almost 2 stone since the wedding, which was only 4 months ago! How very embarrassing. Wish I could say I was raring to go and thoroughly enjoying being back on the food bandwagon, but that would be a bit of a lie. It'll click into place soon enough I'm sure but I spent most of yesterday feeling hungry and refusing to eat (yes, I know on sw you can eat loads and shouldn't feel hungry but I just cannot make my brain believe this). I'll see how today goes.
Me and the kids are off to visit a friend for lunch as well, which will be really nice as it's been a while since we caught up. I doubt it'll be sw friendly but I'll just have to go with it for now.
Money wise, I'm pretty much back on the bandwagon and it should only get easier once I'm back at work. We may pop to the shops but it'll only be so the kids can spend their Christmas money (she says hopefully).
Have a good day everyone :j

  • Lunch with friend - done.
Not sure how bad the damage is but it was all home cooked Asian food. The biggest syn was probably the crispy roll starter - lamb mince and deep fried. But lovely chicken and rice (no sauce) and a vermicelli/milk pudding. I loved it, and amnot expecting to need to eat again today. If I do, I have plenty of free veg soup to hand.
    Kids shopping - done.
One spent £4, one spent £3.29. I spent nothing (YAY!)
    Christmas decorations - done.
Back in the loft for another year.
    Housework - kitchen done.
Rest of the house on the list for tomorrow
    Book marking - not done.
    !!!!!!
Still 2 days of hols to go though so I'll make a start soon. I'll have to.

  • Hmmn. Hubby has just rang me from work after doing more overtime. He's managed to get a free lift to go and watch the football, which is FA cup so 3 hours away. I can't really complain, if he has the money then it's his to do with what he wants - I just wish he'd spend some time with me and his children occasionally.
Anyway. I've done a couple of mse bits this morning - paid BT upfront for a year of line rental, which according to :money:is going to save me £56 over the year.
Just about to ring my gas/electric to get me onto a fixed tariff as well. I've compared and they're still my cheapest so I may as well fix for a year.

  • £65 saved on gas and electricity.
Now off to the supermarket for the bare essentials.

  • Well done on the utility savings wannabee - little bits add up here & there!:j

get on with that beepin' marking :rotfl:
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!
  • Home from supermarket - spent less than £13. Made lunch for me and kids (home made turkey burgers and chips), finished housework.
Now I'm going to go and do an hour of marking before rising finds out I still haven't done any. :D

  • Well it went as quiet as I did because I spent the rest of the day marking. And I'm finally done. I can enjoy the last day of the holiday without fretting about the fact that books aren't marked etc. :j
Also managed to stick to sw impeccably yesterday - was just so busy I never even thought about eating and food. Think I fancy a big SW fry up today for breakfast.

  • Morning all,

As I'd suspected, once I got back into work then it was just immediately manic and non stop. So back to just getting on here at weekends until I get a hang on being so busy (which isn't happening any time soon).
Don't get me wrong, I love being kept busy because the days fly past but it would be nice to be busy rather than overdone... Still, it's a little more pleasant being in at work now than it was before Ofsted and before everything hit the fan. Just so much to do. I'm back to bringing loads home to do and will have to sit for at least a couple of hours to get some stuff in the bag for next week.
SW going well - I had a weigh in after 4 days and had lost 2lbs. My bathroom scales are broken but I feel like I've done well foodwise this week. Monday will tell when I go for official weigh in.
Another bonus to being busy is that I don't have time or inclination to be out spending so I've had a spend free week. Must spend today though as the car is running on fumes and the cupboard is bare.
My 'baby' sister turned 29 on Wednesday. She was most pleased with her home made blackberry vodka - which cost me nothing apart from the vodka that I bought ages ago.

  • Well I've been like a little whirlwind getting things done today. I've done planning, marking, housework, meal planning, dinner making etc etc.
I've even been outside and gritted our path and driveway, and our elderly neighbours path as we're expecting snow overnight and I am already stressing about getting into work in the morning. Nothing like a 15 mile commute in the snow to make life a bit more stressy.
Pleased that I've made some progress though. And it's been another nsd to boot. Thank god, because I was early paid in December so January is feeling like a very long month indeed.
SW weigh in tomorrow night. I intend to go, even if I'm snowed in and have to walk there - it's not too far.

  • Well there's another week gone and done with me barely registering it because I am so busy at work these days. And I've still had to bring work home 4 nights out of 5 and for the weekend as well.
It's incredibly snowy here, and although we have no plans to do anything today I don't think I'm going to even get as far as my marking or housework. I've woken up with a sore throat, stuffy nose and sneezing and feeling generally rubbish. So online, bit of reading and snuggling under blankets today I think. I'm already fretting about getting into work on Monday as well....
I've just taken delivery of my first ever veggie box, which was £16 for more fruit and veg than I know what to do with! I've had a massive fruit salad for my breakfast today and am doing a mini roast dinner with some chicken bits from the freezer, mashed swede and carrot, plus broccoli and cauliflower. I'll have to see if I can make good use of it before I decide to order another one, but it should help keep me on the straight and narrow SW wise.
Also made my first ever approved food order, which I'm quite impressed with so far. I may make sure I do that once a month as it looks as though we can make some good savings.
As if that wasn't enough food, I also booked a Sainsbury's delivery for tonight. I thought we may not get out and about for grocery shopping once the snow hits (I'm a very nervous driver in the snow) but cars seem to be getting up and down our street ok for the moment so I'm hopeful Sainsbury's will get to me tonight.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying safe in the snow (and hopefully I'm not just sitting chatting to myself here).
