If he's got time BR, marking papers is pretty good money.Ninja Saving Turtle0

Not the best start to the day really.
My son came and got into bed with me at about 5am, and I was rudely awoken just after 6 to the sound of him being sick. He hasn't really stopped so far... although he is little so it comes and goes in waves._pale_
Thankfully my rapidly depleting funds mean that I have very little planned for the day. I was going to take the kids out for an ice cream (less than a fiver) and then we were going to make Christmas pudding. Somehow I don't think that either of those things are going to happen now, but we'll see how things go. One thing I do know is that my washing machine will be non stop.
It's going to be a long day - the better half is out all day meeting friends and going to football.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hello everyone...
I've been a weeny bit quiet this week. Just so, so very busy with work. And I'm still not caught up now - but I am one seriously happy bunny because it's half term and I can stop stressing for at least a few days about it.
I think I'm just about back on the mse wagon at long last. I've had a couple of low spend weeks and I'm starting to build up the nsds again so I'm pleased about that. Mind you - I just had to cough up £170 on car tax today which was a little painful (but most importantly the money was there).
Hope everyone is doing wellNinja Saving Turtle0 -
;)Oh dear, I feel a bit rough around the edges today. It's one of those I-have-a-hangover-after-not-having-anything-to-drink feelings. It'll be a good day in terms of diet though because food and drink it the last thing on my mind.
Trouble is that I can't really be bothered to do anything. Have to take kids out to pick hubby up from work and do the grocery shopping when he phones. All I want to do is snuggle in bed and sleep (especially as we've had snow overnight).
Thankfully it's half term so I can half relax for a few days. I'm sure I can find plenty to keep me occupied though, and I've had to bring home quite a bit of marking as well. Ugh.
Will make roast chicken dinner tonight though, that should cheer everyone up.;)Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Morning...
Well, the extra hour in bed didn't happen. Woke up at 4.53am all on my own, which is about the time I would get up for work (but an hour later). I had a headache and was choking for something to drink so I got up and came down for a cuppa. My son wasn't far behind me.
Did the lush roast dinner last night, and I have enough chicken left over for 2 more meals. Although the way my hubby is tanking through food at the moment I'm doubtful it will actually last that long. Already in the process of making leftover roast dinner pie (basically a chicken, veg and stuffing pie), but I need to get pastry (never make my own pastry). And a chicken and bacon pasta with some bacon that is just about to be past its best. Lovely.
Today is meant to be our family day. We each take a turn at deciding what we want to do that week and all four of us go. Well, it's our daughter's turn today and she wants to go to the kids cinema (£1 a ticket for juniors and kids films on). Hubby has flatly refused to go, which is a little bit annoying as we've always done the stuff he wants to  , but I'd rather it was just the three of us than have him there and moaning about it all the way through.:p
Then I suppose I should think about getting some marking done.
Have a good day everyone.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -

Hi Brum - nice to see you over here.
Well, another non lie in day - everyone was up and about by 6. Why is it I can't get them out of bed normally, but by the hols when they're supposed to lie in then they're up earlier than me?
Not sure what I've got planned today. Back of my mind is telling me that I should go to the gym but reality is telling me that I'm more likely to be stuck in the house marking work. Or even more likely - doing nothing.
I am going out tonight though with the girls. Was a bit of a last minute thing, but we have tickets to a show that were half price and bogof so it would have been a real shame not to.
May have to walk into my little town centre for some more fruit (I never seem to get enough), and I also have to get the car booked in to have the brakes sorted before the weather gets much worse. This car always seems to cost me a fortune at this time of year - I remember the £400 bill on 23 Dec last year - I just pray that it's not too much or too expensive this year.
Have a good day everyone!Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Car booked in for tomorrow. Please cross your fingers for me that it doesn't wipe out my emergency fund.Ninja Saving Turtle0

It's my payday on Wednesday... as we're off work this week then the payslips come through the post.
Imagine the unpleasant surprise to find myself £175 short this month - thanks to the unpaid leave I had to take while my son was in hospital at the beginning of the month. I've already rang payroll to make sure that my pay rise is definitely coming in next months pay packet, which it is thank God. But it means a bit of a frugal month ahead for me so I've joined the 'Just Say NOvember' challenge to try and keep me on the straight and narrow. I've done the majority of the Christmas prep but the rest will just have to wait until December - it's not the end of the world really.
Wish me luck!:eek:Ninja Saving Turtle0
