Morning PAP! Just wanted to pop in and say hi! I do think its a good idea that you treat yourself with some new clothes and stuff - do you have suitable stuff for interviews? If not, make sure you get something you can wear to 'em, as i feel you'll have one for the job of your dreams in no time and you'll want to look gorgeous and smart
Best of luck with Saturday's driving lesson x

hi all
sorry i havent been around sooner... been very busy (ish) with work etc... anyways, budget went to pot last week as you all know but its one of those things... had two driving lessons so far and all going well, i think we will stick with this test, if only if its used as a test run it will still be good experiance. Many people are still going on about getting a car but i dont know i cant comfotably afford it, maybe after i completed my savings target but thats maybe months away
ummm i paypal have confirmed my bank account and the £177.47 is on its way to my bank so maybe thurs/fri that will arrive... i will put the £107.47 into my savings but i am keeping £70 as me money... have things ready to list but am listing them so the conicide with my days off so still working on that
spent quite alot of my £50 me money already but thats because i had a splurge on food/treats but i dont mind... oh and sainsburrys have sent me my cheque for my £50. I will tommorow post my grovelling letter to the bank about my charges. I have phoned the bank up to drop the overdrafts the bills account one has gone (£100) but the spending account (£50) is still showing so next week if its still there i will phone them back
oh and one set of good news is i have had some baby snails :T now i was saving the eggs as someone wanted some babys but have ended up with 50but its fine, hopefully i will find homes for them, its just now i have to look on ebay/£1 shops for some 'safe' beddding and some small tanks (however these were found in my local £1 shop) so i will need to do some spending but as its for my animals i dont mind...
the only thing at present that is worry me (and quite a lot) is mums dca hasnt taken payment. Now she had a letter from them asking to phone up about a f&f but she didnt phone them and just said she would keep up payments... however they havent taken paymentand she is on holiday till friday  i am worried that they wont take it and they will send the baliffs  dont know what i can do
i will prob wait till thurs and if they havent taken it i will phone her
anyways thats a little update from me0 -
Nice to hear from you Pap. Was wondering how you were getting on.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

well panic over... mums dca took thier money this morning :T paypal also transfered payment over so my savings are now £107.47 higher :T not too bad but its not going up as fast as i like but never mind...
umm thats about it... except i am allowed a free night out saturday (my choice) now mums and her oh are paying but i feel guilty in one way as they are strapped for cash (ish) yet i feel i should go as i never get anything back for them  but if i go i will go to the hungry horse (dont know if you have them around you) but they are cheap but great meals
well thats about it... except my driving instructer and work collegues are laying it on thick about not getting a car when i pass as they all think i will forget it/lose my confidance... so i am contending with that at present hey ho...
anyways it looks like i have broke the site so i suppose i better do some proper work :rotfl: take care all0 -
Remember PAP hun, you wenre't learning for them and you won't be passing for them...
Lots of people I know regret getting a car too early on because they could have easily lived without one, it was necessary to their living, but an unnecessary expense.
You can go for it whenever you want, and if at that time you feel you've lost a little, you can always go for a couple of refresher lessons. Its like riding a bike (apparently)........Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
HI Pap,
Don't listen to them, you know you don't need a car. I passed my test when I was 17 and acquired my first car when I was 30! In between I'd driven various cars, and had a job for a while which required me to drive large vans. And sometimes gone very long periods without driving at all. It's not something you forget how to do.
Good luck with the test and the savingsTotal debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
pap, don't worry about getting a car!
you've come so far wihout one. But know it's *possible* for you to get a job requiring driving or *possible* for you to hire a car for touring holidays once you have your licence - so still well worth doing, and 'full clean driving licence' is a nice bit for 'additional skills' on a cv.. so well worth doing even without buying wheels!!!
My very first debt was a car loan and look how well that went!! Wish I'd waited until i could afford one properly !!Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0
