Oh PAP, your posts have struck such a chord with me and I know how you're feeling! (((hugs)))
Lets get something straight though - all of us have a blip every now and again. It doesn't really matter how much money is involved, what matters is how you deal with it. And here's the great bit.... you told us! I include myselfwhen I say I'm sure lots of us have a blip and then are too afraid to confess, to examine why we did it and try not to do it again.
I have no doubt you are absolutely determined to pay off this debt asap (but don't be too hard on yourself hun) and that you won't do the same thing again. Making mistakes is part of human nature - we're all going to keep doing it - we can just try to limit the impact of the mistakes :rotfl:
Look forward to your holiday, enjoy allowing yourself some spending money and generally don't be too hard on yourself. And whatever you do, don't be leaving us! As someone said, we are a family and we stick by each other, not judge!

thanks for all your kind words... i wont leave here because you have taught me so much over the past year i have been here and i love reading all of you diarys to see where you are to on you debt free quests... we will all get there together
edited just to say ~ i am off to devon with my mum... we were going to do a sun holiday but it was cheaper online with a higher spec caravan... i did this for many reasons... one was she wanted to go abroad but i didnt want to pay that much... two i want to see more of england (last holiday except the sun holiday last october, was when i was 7)... and mum is now 51... she may soon be geeting re married and i belive my time with her is precious hence taking her away and paying for it... i know now due to interest it will cost more than the original price but this is something for me that i wouldnt have got if i carryed on saving/spending the way i was... i belive it was a good choice... shame i couldnt have waited untill payday :rolleyes:0 -
Glad to see you're feeling a bit better about things.
We all make mistakes otherwise we wouldn't be on the board in the first place.
You managed to nip it in the bud before it got out of hand & you've learned from it so you'll be better equiped to deal with similar situations in the future.0 -
it seems to me youve drpped a rick
and now you think you blew it
the debt free wagons standing by
just get back on and do it
we all have times when plans go wrong
sometimes its hard to take
dont beat yourself up just because
you made one small mistake

Hi PAP. Hope you are feeling better today?
Well done on cutting the card up...it's gone now. So stop worrying.
Also, just a thought, but gosh wouldn't it be quiet on this forum if all of us who had spent money whilst pursuing Debt Free-ness didn't post anything...?*...tumble weed....*Bank Balance: In the black for the moment.

and thats something i dont want to happen... i will get there in the end :A

Glad to see you have cheered up a bit - like everyone says don't be so hard on yourself. We all have blips - this one is at least a repairable one - and you are back on course.
If it is any consolation my debt has gone up by about £2K since I joined here - combination of Christmas (which we would have just about survived) followed closely by major car repairs and a £1K tax bill! Ok perhaps unavoidable but it is not as if I couldn't have predicted them and prepared a bit better! But no - the bills came and we had no cash so it all piled on the cards . So rest assured you are not the only one who has to wait a little longer for that deft free date - but even so we WILL get there!0
