Progress is progress! If you have a little slack to take with you on holiday it would mean you could leave the CC behind and avoid the temptation of having it with you - probably save money in the long run!
When you come back - see how you feel - the holiday might give you the high you need to really hit it hard and pay it off for summer?
mmm maybe... i have just transferred £180 across form my savings which will clear prob wednesday and then i will pay it off... that will take the bill down to £297.85 but then i dont know what to doi could keep feb money to take with me on holiday and i could then pay the card off in full in april or i can pay £100 a month and inccur interest...

pap, please don't be too hard on yourself. we all go a bit nuts at times and need a little spoiling. tuesday night i ate a whole bar of share size whole nut (and could kill another now!) plus a big bag of crisps! i was feeling really low and it was what i needed to help. i can honestly say i'm fighting the urge to buy shoes for myself to cheer me up. the old me would have and is probably why i was never down for long before. it's harder to shift this time but at least my debt isn't suffering...
anyway, the point was that we all need a little spoiling from time to time (i'm nearly at the holiday point too  ) so please please please stay on the dfw board and just pay what you can off the card. is there no way of getting a 0% and doing a bt then cutting the card up? at least that way it'd give you the space to pay it off without being too tough???0 -
If you are able to I think you should try to get a 0% deal for the longest term possible and do a BT. Then divide the amount by the number of months you have the 0% for ie 297/6 = £49.50. Then set up a six month (or longer) DD so that it clears your debt within the 0% term. This will be easily affordable and you will be able to forget about it knowing it is taken care of. So once the £49.50 or whatever has gone from your account each month then the rest of your money will be your own to spend or save. Honestly, I have done this myself and it will pay itself off and you will hardly notice and the 6 months will go by in a flash. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

By the way if you do this you must strictly think of it as a loan only and you MUST not ring to activate the new card when you get it but cut it up instead, it is solely for paying off your blip. The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

OK - I popped this all into the snowball calculator - came up with that if you paid £100 a month you'd end up paying 499.28... Now, to my mind the £22 interest (especially if in may you ecide to pay it off ASAP and dodge a couple of interest payments) over 5 months is probably worth it for a happy holiday, the feeling of progress and being able to leave the cc behind on holiday(!) but we all have different feelings about these things - why not have a go, test a few scenarios here - its never as scary when you see options and make an informed decision...

I think there will be less stress involved in that because you will see it going down steadily but you wont be stretched for money and agonising over your holiday money. Six months is not a lot of time to wait and you will know it is taken care of.The forest would be very silent if no birds sang except for the birds that sang the best0

It was you that first introduced me to this site, because you mentioned it on another forum. So don't you DARE go away!!
You've done really welll and you'll soon be d/f again.
Allow yourself a little 'treat' now and again, everyone needs that, and I think the advice posted by tesohuha is the right one, because you won't even have to think about the payment.
Have a GREAT holiday....where are you going?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
