  • lynz i am too, i love the thought of being in my own home with just my gecko for company and space to do anything i like :) it will take till sep/october till i am able to move out fully but in that time i am planning :) i laughed when you said you would be planning it to the last detail, well i am already, i already have a type of list that i think i will need (this could be totally wrong though), i have also got some prices together (using ikea and argos) the easiest and cheapest place around be... but this is a guide and once i get bargian hunting i belive it will be less :) so the totals so far are £427.67 but without washing machine and fridgefrezzer its £167.69.

Also i dont know how much i will have to spend untill i have a house to rent. Ie if it has the white goods anyways it will be much less. Also i dont really want to start collecting things as i have no room here but i am slowly ebaying all my tat and camping stuff so i am sure i will find space near enough :) If i am looking at september and i put away my set amount each month that will give me £1500.00 if however i leave it till october that will give me £1800.00. It also depends on how much the property costs as you have to but down deposits and stuff aswell so i am not quite sure.

This is a huge step but i am sure i will get there, in a few months i bet i will be asking on this diary about household bills and stuff
  • Hi PAP. Glad you had a good holiday and congrats on being debt free.

thanks shirley, most of the 'big' stuff i have as i have only (well a year ago now) redecorated my room and had all new furniture. Its just the little things like all the kitchen stuff and cutlery etc etc, it will take a lot of planning and work but i will get there. I am also hoping that i can take my bread maker (i brought it for the house a few months ago) i dont know if mum will allow it though

if you bought it- its yours. TAKE IT!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Definitely agree with Lynz there hun, if you paid for it, went out and bought etc etc, then rightfully it's yours....

Either that, or tell your mum to buy you one as a new home present and then pick which one is best and take that one with you, that way everyone has a BM! :)

Glad to hear your planning it out. I found that some many things I thought I needed I really didnt. Plus like you say you might find somewhere that comes with white goods, so that will be a blessing.

Keep up the good work and hope you're enjoying your time off :)

  • thanks lynz and cafcgirl, i guess i will they dont use it anyways, i am always putting the bread maker on for them... i am just thinking in the long run in my own place it will be cheaper to make my own than buy it in and try and frezze it in a tiny frezzer :rotfl:

cafcgirl i have a small ish list of what i think i will need, i will post it up nearer the time before i go out and buy it all but i am quite fortunate as when i used to work in argos i brought some things that were being reduced and i have some stuff from my camping days that i will keep so the list is rather small :)

zippy... thanks i have replyed to your pm btw... and yes i had a fab holiday, i am so glad i still have another week off work though :p

at the momment i am doing a mass clear out (but secrectly) so no one cottons on :rotfl: i have 23 items listed so far on good old ebay and i have another 15 about to go on tonight and the tommorow and tuesday i will be listing all my camping gear... i am doing this for three reasons really, one to get some space back into my little room, two get more money for my moving out fund and finally so i have less to move when i finally move :p going well so far have sold one item and have loads of watchers... fingers crossed :)

Glad to hear you had a lovely holiday and are cracking on with your plans! I have to agree that particular car sounds like a bad idea, well done you for resisting and focussing on the long term!
