Ive just had this text through too, saying t mobile ( Im with virgin) .
It was the same day I registered with Momail through Quidco !!:hello:0 -
Well well well.
My first ever spam text message
Got the 0207 153 9153 one for T Mobile Customer - I'm with Virgin so I'm guessing since Virgin Mobile customers are getting the TMobile message they're just trying random numbers.0 -
I just received a text from the 0207 153 9153 number with the same message.
I very rarely get any spam and I've had the same mobile number for 10 years, so I'd like to know how they got this.0 -
Some have been coming through on T-mobile with "Upgrde Cntre", or something short for "upgrade center" Not authentic.~*Cerenia*~

Hi, everyone, apparently these messages are back!! I also got one today. I was curious so I called 150 T-Mobile to check it out. Paid £0.25 for this and was told they had not sent me the message, it was probably one of their dealers and I should just give them a call to inquire about the offer!! Can you believe this?! This is a known scam (which I found by typing the address on google and got a link to my good old MSE forum!!) and at the call centre they have the indication that I should give the number a call to check the offer!!
Also, I mentioned to the call centre guy that my number was initally virgin so there was no way they could have known I was with T-Mobile, unless t.mobile had passed on this information. Or they may be fishing the numbers and seeing if they hit anything. I really hate spammers.0 -
I'm a bit dubious about the "STOP" message as it could signify to a Scammer that my number is genuine, potentially landing it on a "Live" list and resulting in a plethora of further Scam texts being sent to it; as per the advice: you should never respond to "Unsubcribe" links in unsolicited Spam.
Thankfully SMS works differently to email, replying to SPAM email may well signify to the sender that it is a live email address and just make things worse.
Any 'STOP' messages received by a network are handled by the networks themselves which stops messages getting through to you from that number in the future.
Sorry if that isn't very clear, I don't usually post but have just received this message myself and thought I could add a little advice as I have very recently developed several automated texting applications for a large company so know a little of how the system works.0 -
For those of you concerned at receiving this Spam: Virgin Mobile uses the T-Mobile network, or so VM told me.0
