Yup - they are still at it. I got a text today (orange contract customer).

What a PITA these junk/spam texts are.
I don't like my privacy being intruded upon and, as I travel abroad, I especially don't like having to pay to be spammed.

    (edit 1)
There's a page on the Orange website about spam texts. One of the things they ask you to do is to forward the spam text to them on 7726 (which spells 'spam'!). The site says that this text to Orange is free. Here's the link to the page on the Orange website.

PS: The little wotsits (!) have just spammed me again !!!

My mum is on pay as you go with Orange and she received this text. She rang the number and the guy was really pushy and would not let her get off the phone. She put him onto me and I asked if he was from Orange, he said
they were a third party working on behalf of orange, he was asian and it
sounded like a call centre. He was not rude but would NOT take NO for an
answer and I eventually just had to put the phone down on him. Not sure if
it is genuine or not but it is not Orange and I certainly would not want to do
    business with him anyway!

Just received the exact text message a few minutes ago - luckily I Googled it and found MSE as one of the hits!

I won't be calling it and have deleted the message.

  • I just got this and am not on Orange. It addresses me as a T-Mobile customer, and I'm not with them either. I'm with Virgin!

I work for T-Mobile. We do not send out texts like this at all advising customers they can have an upgrade - and there is never an end date for when you are eligible for an upgrade.
I accept no liability if you chose to rely on my advice.
  • mine says 6th February end date, i know its nothing to do with t mobile, except that T-Mobile have sold my details on to another company, the same goes for other mobile companies, you have to opt out otherwise they sell customer details on automatically.
