I ordered the princetta for an xmas present and yes it looks like a twig, phoned today they are blaming royal mail for the problems!!!! wouldn't give refund but a replacement plant out of a choice of 5/6 was told if there was a problem with this plant they would then refund. Deliverys are starting again on the 4th. I don' think I will bother buying from them again.

Sorry to hear there have been problems. My MIL received her 3 princettias within a few days (about 2 weeks before Christmas, for her birthday) and they are very pretty, not twigs at all. :j
I wonder if we were luckier because it hasn't been very cold down here? I know poinsettias can react badly to cold, drafts etc.
  • I just want to thank the OP as I would never have known about this offer otherwise. I ordered 4 plants for various relatives and they were all delighted. I didn't order Princettias as I know Poinsettias are quite temperamental and I wanted something that would last. I ordered two red hibiscus, a large basket of lilac hyacinths and a begonia, and I had delighted 'phone calls from all 4 relatives when they received the plants. I'm sorry some people have not had a good experience, but the OP certainly did me a great service by posting in the first place.

If you see offers like this again, think twice! T&M totally messed up my order (said the first one hadn't gone through, so order again - which I did. Guess what - both orders turned up (one with wrong plant), both were charged. They promised a credit for a voucher I had - still haven't had it). Worse still, the Princettia which is supposed to last for months has dropped all its leaves/'flowers' and one of the mini roses is dead. I am just very thankful that I did not actually give either of these plants as Christmas gifts, I would have been so embarrassed at the state they are in, in such a short time, despite having been kept as directed.

When I tried in vain to cancel my orders the girl I spoke to said they were having problems especially with the princettas. Boy was she right.

Yes, I agree with you & think it important to show gratitude to the OP, plus defend T & M a little.
I am sorry that many appear to have had a bad experience, but mine was extremely positive.

After reading the post I initially ordered 6 plants (half direct to me for local pressies & half direct to recipients, in different parts of the country). I was so pleased with them & thought the offer such good value, I subsequently ordered another 6 (again a 50/50 split to me & direct).
Every plant I received direct was in tip top condition & really lovely, plus I had very positive feedback from all the direct recipients.

I thought it was an amazing offer & hope T & M will do it again, although if they've been inundated with refund/replacement requests, I doubt they will.

I agree with headintheclouds that the Poinsettia family of plants are notoriously difficult to look after successfully - my Mum was the only person I knew that could ever keep one alive beyond New Years Day. I don't really think they lend themselves to 'being posted' either - perhaps T & M may consider just withdrawing that species. Having said that, I did order one (as I like them) & at the moment it still looks half decent - fingers crossed! :D

To be honest if I look at the whole picture am sorry to say it has been a NEGATIVE experience on the whole!!! :(

Firstly they took longer than expected to arrive , so even after popping home halfway through my Christmas break to find it HAD NOT arrived yet and no 'sorry you were out' card it looks like most things took approx 11 days to arrive!

The 'travel experience' the plant took means they took alot of knocking and didn't all arrive in the best of states! lol

The Princettias often looked lovely when they arrived ( mine did , so WAS happy ) BUT within a week or so mine lost ALL its leaves and flowers and after ignoring all the 'twig' jokes mine do now just look like a 'bunch of twigs in a pot' and I would NOT have been happy to give these as gifts!!!

I recommended these firstly because of the excellent price and secondly because of the LOVELY PICTURES as you don't expect them to look AS lovely as in the pictures but you do expect them to thrive , not DIE!!

So my honest opinion on the WHOLE ( glad some people DID get healthy plants ) is a NEGATIVE one unfortunately

My Princettia is a gonner and my Hyacynth arrived too late and was left in Royal Mail office for such a long time it is growing sideways because of being restricted in the box and it is all spindly and yellow , def not healthy because it has been stored too long , not T&M's fault so I won't be asking for a refund as I DID go away for Christmas so didn't give them the tlc they needed , but if I DID and they still didn't thrive I would definitely be asking for a refund!!!

    Will I use T&M again???....

Yes! BUT I will choose the plants much more carefully and go for something more robust next time .... Just wish I had something to show for this offer .... Good thing my Viking Amaryllis turned up today to cheer me up! ;) lol x

I agree cazza, I would use T & M again but would be more selective next time. I don't think I would risk using them for a delivery towards Christmas when a lot of post items can be affected by delays due to sheer volume of deliveries, but will try them again for something else / different season.

ps, am happy with my Viking Amaryllis too.
