• Hi,
I'm new to here but had to post. Yesterday evening I noticed I'd been paying £1.25 per week for an app pretty much since I got my phone in April 2012. I did a bit of online research and came accross this thread. I texted STOP to 60113 in the hope that that would do something suspecting I may be being scammed by mobi village.

THis morning I woke to find a message saying I'd won a free Ipad etc. OMG! Now its never going to stop!

I telephoned Orange. They said quote "its a massive problem we have a phone number set up to deal with just mobivillage and I can check with our department thats its definitely them". She checked and yes it mobi villiage. SHe said she would put me through directly to them and they are usually good at refunding.

I went through to a very Indian sounding Julian who said he has now unsubscribed me and my number is "blacklisted". I requested a refund and he gave me an email address to request in writing. I asked what I'd apparently subscribed to and I have unlimited game downloads! lucky me! I asked how I got this, apparently I clicked on a pop up on my phone, this went through to a banner, where I entered my phone number and my carrier and that was me subscribed!!! WHAT!! I'm seriously not that stupid! I've had the phone a couple of months and I'm 100% certain I never did that. I told him I believed their company was acting fraudulently and I will be going to the OFT as they are trading dishonestly. I'm just about to email for the refund - I'll let you know!!

Oh and Orange - I said can you please block this app or number or what ever - no we can't do that! I pushed them saying I'm requesting you stop this charge and I just got told no!!

Can anyone help?

I discovered i was hit with horrible scam also last month, after checking my online bills finally, i found out why my bills have been so high, i have been paying this company since november last year.

After reading all your helpful information on here i contacted orange and followed all the recommend information they gave me...eg phoning the company and sending a stop email to stop future charges.

I wanted to try and get a reund for all the money that has been unwillingly taken from my account, i was told by buorigiorno to email for a refund which i have tried doing a few times now and every time the emails get rejected as unknow host. can anyone help me to get a refund back please?

:(
• I was given playplanetuk@buongiorno.com as the contact email. I have received an email this morning saying amongst other things I will get a full refund in the next ten days which will be through paypal and I will get an email confirming this. I got a automated message within an hour of sending my email to the company so you should be able to see if you've got the right address.

Good Luck!

Ive been told by orange there is nothing they can do to help me, i've had ten of these a month over last 6 or so months, and only just spotted them as they are work mobiles, Orange refunded me £30 and said thats all they can do, but surely they should be doing more to prevent this type of CRIME !!!!

Just checked my bills, 49 times since we bought the iphone in October, upto 8 per month...have emailed the address to ask for refund, totally not impressed with Oranges response though, washing their hands of it, poor form in my opinion....

so, Orange, to complain the only way is by post, i cant complain via email, despite your complaints code of practise saying i can, or by phone, it has to be by post only, as the email quoted is out of order...BRILLIANT !!! thanks, in this day and age, snailmail only...QUALITY !!!
• I have just found out I have been charged £1.66 plus VAT every Tuesday since January 2012! After 3 calls to Orange they told me the company is Moby Village. These are the contact details for them: ifortuneuk@buongiorno.com (to get a refund)....you can text STOP to 60113. Ive just done it and not sure if its worked yet. This dodgy company have said if I email them they will give a refund - let's just see about that. Orange advice at first was to stop using a smart phone!! Can you believe that. One Orange worker offered me 3 months refund, then another offered me 5 months. I asked how they randomly select this refund figure out of the air? The Orange guy today has offered me 3 month again - its just pathetic! I want a full refund for a service I did not sign up to. Orange seem to have a bit of a part to play in all this and are also making a profit off the back of innocent victims. Im reporting this company to PhonePay Plus who are the regulating body.

I noticed that these Application Content charges started appearing on my bill at the same time I signed up to Orange Wednesdays.

After a little research, it was no surprise to find this company Buongiorno providing the text message service for Orange Wednesdays!

I'm not allowed to post the direct URL for spam reasons, but search for 'BUONGIORNO WHAT WE DO' and see bottom right on this webpage, under the heading 'Success Cases'.

I won't be renewing my Orange contract after this. Well done Orange, you've just lost a regular paying customer forever! All for the sake of earning yourselves an extra £50.

I've never had to complain about a company before. What is the next move to highlight this issue? Which governing bodies do I need to contact?

Pleased to report Orange gave me £30 credit, and the other company refunded me a full £89, still dont think we should have to watch out for this, i dread to think how much they are making from people that dont check, crazy...ORANGE...must do better !!!
