Orange customer with Iphone been charge £1.25 for Image contents from mobie village
This post is for information and it is intended to help other orange customer who may have seen £1.25 (£1.50 inc VAT) Image charges applied to their account every Tuesday
I have been getting a £1.25 change on my orange account every Tuesday, when looking at the bill or talking to Orange, it shows an Image on the bill and it always applied every Tuesday.
Orange mention that this charge is by a third party and not in their control.
I stated I have not downloaded any games or app or signed any subscription? So could be a fraud act.
I do not get any content/ image or anything on my orange iphone
They say the image is from company called mobie village.
I went round the house with this one to get it resolved calling orange no less than 10 times, each time been told they have remove the subscription, but when Tuesday comes, bang another £1.25 charge is applied to my account.
My latest complaint in writing, I got a phone call from Orange on 7 Dec, again they mention mobie village and gave me a number to call to get the subscription removed 0208 772 4859, I ask Orange to call and resolve for me. So Orange rep called and she said she has got it removed from the company and said they have black listed my number and it will take 24 hrs to be applied. The company name is http://www.buongiorno.com . I will wait till next Tuesday to see if it worked.
Further more she said to get refunds I need to email BLINKOUK@BUORIGIORNO.COM
Some further information:-
I did some research, did a google on “mobie village and it gave me website :- http://mobivillage.co.uk/default.aspx
This is another company altogether but they have put the below “Important Notice” statement on the bottom of their home page, obviously like me been told its mobie village orange customers must have been harassing this company and they got nothing to do with it and so have put some info to direct people to the correct company. This shows a lot of customers must have been having the same problems. Yet Orange does not appear to investigate.
Another website I looked at was http://www.blinko.co.uk/, this website is owned by buongiorno and it sells premium apps. What worried me that when clicking on an app, it takes you to a page where the user just needs to enter a mobile number to sign up? This seems very dangerous if anyone could enter a mobile number and then charges would start to apply!!
Hope this importation of use to other orange customers who have been getting these £1.25 charges
It has came to our attention that Orange customers using Apple or HTC (Android) mobile phones are being charged some amounts on their monthly bills and
Orange is telling them that MOBIVILLAGE is charging them these amounts. We have got nothing to do with this and we are not MOBIVILLAGE, we are
MOBI VILLAGE LTD.
Once again we assure you that we have got nothing to do with all this and we request you not to email us or contact us on our contact number.

Hey,
I just got off the phone to orange about this one, as my mate posted me the link to this thread.
Orange have been helpful, and have refunded me the amount in question without hassle, they also stated that someone called Dave will be contacting me within about 4-5 working days explaining the situation with it.
If he rings back, I will post back here to let you know what has been said and keep everyone updated.0 -
I didn't see this thread yesterday when I posted this question:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3696895
Clearly the same thing. I have been trying for the last couple of days to submit a bill query online as they obviously have been still charging me.... so I have just phone customer services and got through to someone who was able to tell me pretty much straight away "try Mobivillage" and then said "B!Games" which I think must be that Buongiorno thing. He went through several apps/games none of which I have got, before suggesting I can stop it by:
STOP to 60113
which I have done and had a text back saying I have now been unsubscribed. Orange have refunded me for 10 weeks worth of charges.
I am happy that they have done that, but I am still disconcerted as to how I 'subscribed' in the first place, and a little uncomfortable when you look at this site
http://www.buongiorno.com/paid-content-and-apps
and you see an Orange Wednesdays case study. The first time I got this charge on my phone was three days after it came back from repair/replacement from Regenersis. It had a new look/some new apps on the desktop, one of which was I am sure, Orange Wednesday, but as I never used it before, I can't be sure. Coincidence?
I definitely have not subscribed to anything chargeable, all my apps came from the Android Marketplace, I had never had the charge before it went away for repair and the only two apps I got in the first few days back were Googlebot and Iris, neither of which I think are anything to do with this.
Hopefully it will have stopped now, I accept the first 2 or 3 charges before I queried as its possible that I (or my son) inadvertently DID accept something somewhere, and they did not quibble about back dating the refund to the point of when I first queried it with them0 -
My orange phone has also been charged £1.25 + vat every Saturday!!!!
Just gone through all my bills and since 22/10/11 and every Saturday since then it says either Image content or Application content
Looked on here first then rang Orange who where very helpful.
Apparently I have subscribed to an application? Mobivillage??? What? When?
They are going to unsubscribe me and refund me £30 on my next bill!
I have never subscribed to anything - she said that I might have responded with a Text message????
This is so WRONG! How can someone just charge me every week and HOW MANY OTHERS have been charged and not checked there bills or assumed that they must have purchased something by mistake!!!!
PLEASE CHECK YOUR MOBILE BILLS!0 -

I am same, I KNOW I never subscribed by text message, and I only ever downloaded applications via android marketplace that said they were free.
Interesting the start date, Lizzie - my first charge was around that same date, think it was probably 20th October as I was charged every Thursday....
I've scoured all the connected sites, and I haven't been near any of the apps, games or utilities they've listed on their sites.0 -
Phone the 0208 number, ask to speak to a manager, threaten them with trading standards due to unlawful charges...be firm and insist that you did not agree to their services. It took me 3 calls and 20 min conversation with manager but in the end he finally agreed to forward my details to refund centre. Not sure if they will pay up, but i will pursue it til they do! Apparently i agreed to pay them £3 plus a week to recieve horoscope readings...erm, no i did not! Total utter scam...grrr0
-
Orange have refunded me 10 weeks worth of charges.... and it does now appear to have stopped (the weekly charge) - so its probably not worth the stress of arguing with the originators for 20minutes to get the other £3.75 back.... I still don't know what the original app/service was that I was apparently subscribed to was though!0
-
i called them them over and over again threaned them with trading standreds everything all they say email ive emailed them 3 times in 8 days no replys orange have washed there hands with it they wont pay me out ive just lost the will no 1 will help me of these scammers0
-
Please let me know how did you solve the problems as apparently I am subscribed to their gaming service0
-
just had 1 hour on phone to orange after 3 months trying to find out what this was. I have text STOP, so hope it stops. Orange say they will credit, but I have no idea how it came to be on my bill! It is on an Iphone 4.0
