BINGO!!! This is what i'm looking for - reasons behind why people feel stuck?
Is the Government stopping people getting work - or not doing enough to make sure work exists?
Then why did you not ask that question, rather than having a rant about all those people you claim cheat their way through the WCA?0 -

Its stopping a lot of people from getting better!
Lots of evidence that shows the failure of the assessments, is causing damage to peoples health, many are trapped in a revolving door of an assessment that fails them, only to have to appeal and win, proving the assessment was wrong, and then back to another assessment to start the process over again.
Show a sign of helping yourself, and its used against you, meaning those who do try to help themselves get punished the most by the system, whilst those who dont will have an easier time.
The process is an eye opener, it really opens your eyes to the world of corruption...[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0 -
Did something happen for you to stop speaking to people? I'm not asking what happened, just if something did, for you to decide not to speak.
Also, do you speak to those close to you or not to anyone at all?
I didn't stop speaking as the result of some trauma.
I have always had problems talking to people. I am autistic.
A few years ago I found some of the autistic aspects were becomming more marked. My dyspraxia became much more severe - to the extent that I had to move to a ground floor place and have some adaptions made to my home.
At the same time I found socialising in general was becomming more difficult for me and actually speaking became impossible in some cases.
I can speak to my mother - she is my official carer.
I have brothers and sisters I haven't actually spoken to in years. We communicate mainly by e-mails. I find this really hard to cope with. I have nephews and nieces who have never heard me speak.0 -
But those of you who "play" on your issues, those of you who go to a WCA with the intent of scoring as high as possible,
Did I go with the intent of scoring as high as possible - absolutely!
The fundamental problem is that the WCA is not a test of employability or ability to work.
If it was this, then I'd have no problem with expecting people to go into it 'blind'.
It is a test, where John, who gets epileptic fits every 4 days or so, for which he have a few minutes warning that these will occur, but is otherwise fit and intelligent, is less employable than Mary, who can barely learn to work a washing machine, talks constantly to herself, has trouble understanding more than simple messages from others and is in a wheelchair.
If all of the professionals administering the test were doing so with the knowledge of the condition the claimant suffers from, again, it would be less unfair.
As it is, someone who - for example - thinks of themselves as having problems with walking meaning they can't work - may if they don't understand the form and descriptors behind it, utterly miss their real issues in other areas, because they are not 'the main problem'.0 -
"I seriously cannot understand why some people would be happy they scored 15+ points. I'd be bloody mortified!"[/QUOTE]

Happy?
!!!!ing depressed.
On the other hand, my alternative is to claim JSA fraudulently, as I can't claim to be available for 16 hours a week of work.
I note that being not able to work 16 hours a week does _not_ entitle you to ESA.0 -

Indeed, you would have to be rather insane, to decide you need to claim a sickness related benefit, and then go with the intention of failing the eligibility requirements for the benefit you require.rogerblack wrote: »The fundamental problem is that the WCA is not a test of employability or ability to work.

I would seriously take issue with the word professional being used.
I would expect a professional to abide by the GMC code of conduct and ethics, which they do not do.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The dwp previously told me to commit benefit fraud - I refused.
They wanted me to claim JSA whilst appealing, when I pointed out I was not fit for work, and it would be fraudulent to claim, they told me not to worry and just claim anyway, they are 'used' to things like that.
I refused to participate in state advised fraudulent activity, and lived of crisis loans until they told me i could claim ESA.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

Let me actually get this right... so you are happy to go to a test that's designed to...
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/MoneyTaxAndBenefits/BenefitsTaxCreditsAndOtherSupport/Illorinjured/DG_172012
... and do you actually try to score as many points as you can? And if you do - do you "put it on" or just do/show what you actually can do?
Also - if you appeal - surely you are kept on ESA Assessment rate until the Appeal is made/resolved?0
