    I'm in!
So far I have linked my annual paper season ticket gold card to my oyster card (Just popped into an Underground station and it took them 30 seconds to link the card with my oyster).

    First journey and saved 66p,
    So far so good!

Not sure how I get my number for the 2012 club though?

  • Hi Everybody,

Well I got started this morning. Sorted out three bags of junk clothes out of the garage and took them to a local Clothes4cash. I really could not of done anything else with them except take them to the charity shop as they werent very good.

Somade £12 so only £2000 to go but a little bit of space in the garage.

    Take care

    Evening all!

Rang Orange this afternoon as my contract ends soon and have switched to a different tariff saving me £25 a month:j Won't count this yet though til I see the change on my bill, probably next month.

Also went to B00ts for some hair dye and they had some at half price for £2.49, I usually buy one for £3.05 so I saved 56p:).

fab news! However, don't buy your mattresses from mothercare, especially for a cot one which will only last a couple of years. I have bought my daughters' last two mattresses from Amazon and they have been brilliant. Do a bit of research on the type of mattress you'd be buying from Mothercare - ie spring/foam filled/hypoallergen and then do the same search on Amazon. I guarantee you'll get it for 1/3 of the price - and with free next day delivery. Save your vouchers for a bulky item like your next car seat. :)

Really bad week for me.. completely up to my limit with my bank account so had to use my paypal balance to make sure I didn't go over. Luckily I had some left over from last year, so I've still kept in what I've made this year. Looking forward to February and a better month.

Thank you very much for your adivce and I will follow it. We need to get a pushchair too as last time we bought a 2nd hand one on ebay and although it was good, I promised myself a new one this time round. Mothercare as good a place as any for this do you know?

Fantastic news, hehe. After months of looking for and applying to full-time jobs I finally got accepted as a full-time care assistant! :D I'll be taking home about twice of what I'm making at my part-time job!! Am giving my notice end of next week... Now I'll be able to save so much more, thank god!

Pretty much, although it does depend what you're after - there's very little difference in prices with the big brands, unless a place is doing a special offer on a particular style (usually the ones which have 'last seasons' colours). Kiddicare are always competitive with prices and will give you free delivery. They also price match (well, refund the difference) on any online store.

    noirist Yay!! Huge Congrats!! :T

Great - well done to you!

I managed to save £50 on our home insurance renewal so will add that to my total. I was going out for lunch with the girls on Monday but have had to cancel so will add the £13 I would have spent to my total too. Looking forward to invoicing my boss on 31.1 as that should bump up my total - had a lot of work come in this last week :T.

  • Well I can finally kick off my £2012 with the ebay from this weekend totalling £80.23 ...

I've just gone looking for my number and I haven't been added!! Could you please add me to this challenge :)

I personally am not going to list savings where I haven't spent cash that I would have done..only extra cash I've made.Every penny I save is going in a sealed account towards a deposit on a house! Sounds such a long way away but if I do this challenge then in a year I'm a fifth of the way to my £10000 target.

Any money making ideas throw my way!

    Thanks

  • Hi All,

I think this is a fab idea!

In the first instance i'm going to be using the extra money I earn to pay off some lurking debt, but after i'm all square and even i'm going to put the money aside for a new adventure!

I signed up with an employment agency for extra work just before christmas so will be using those earnings for the £2012 target.

I'm not going to be including 'savings' I make on everyday purchases as i'd be doing that anyway and my monthly budget is pretty tight already so that would feel like I was double counting my efforts and being a bit of a cheat!

So far in January I have earnt £205.66 & £48.80 Yay!!

    Good luck everyone
