I cannot believe this. I created a list with zapper a couple of weeks ago. I included a rather obscure book and they offered me £10 for it. Great, I thought, its been under my bed for years and I didnt pay that much for it. Anyway, I just went back onto Zapper to print off the stuff to send my books. It said that as my list was over 7 days old they needed to recalculate. They then offered me £1 for the same book . Not happy. So, I just went onto amazon to see if the same book was listed there and for how much. The cost of this book second hand ranged from £56 to £131. I cant believe it. In am now gonna go back over all my listed books and the ones Zapper rejected.

was wondering does anyone have any advice i sold an item on ebay on the 8th Jan and she took 10 days to pay.... finaly i got the package sent off. all the other packages i sent at the same time have arrived but shes saying hers hasnt come... im feeling very un trustworthy of her. she is asking for a refund... i dont know what to do?? i only starting ebaying at begining of month so unsure of what to do? any advice would be great :)

i know how you feel! its the reason i stopped doing ebay, it was all too stressful. i started up again this year, but its driving me crazy, so after my latest items have ended, im prob gonna stop.

first things first, dont let her scare you into a refund right away, i made this mistake. do you have a certificate of posting? thats the receipt from the post office? (since i had so much trouble in the past i only ever send things recorded, i only ever send jewellery special del, as i had 3 rec del jewellery items "lost", and was out of pocket by a lot!). explain to her nicely that youve contacted royal mail, and they state that for an item to be lost it must have been missing for 15 working days

    http://www.royalmail.com/customer-service/personal-customers/refunds-and-compensation/lost-item-compensation/lost-items

explain that you will contact her again after that time with an update, and that you appreciate her patience. if she trys to scare you by opening a case, respond with the above. dont be scared into paying, i made this mistake too.

in the meantime make sure you keep an eye out for her bidding on any other items of ures, there used to be a way to block certain users from bidding on ure items, not got time to look now, but maybe someone else knows?

i know its hard not to worry, and not to get mad, but be super polite the whole time. youve done nowt wrong at the end of the day. let us know what happens along the way, and we will help with what to do next when the 15 working days are up.

just another quick elo to the newer newbies! welcome! :)

nomi01 i totally agree re zapper etc, i know ive harped on about it before, but to everyone, if you can, do better! i only started listing on amazon this year, and have made £21 selling stuff on there that zapper offered me £2.21 for. ive made £22 on ebay for stuff they offered me £1.20 for. i know its easy and quick, and a lot of folks dont have the time or patience, but if you do, try other routes first. zapper et al will be there if you change ure mind later!:)

Welcome to the thread Ian - congratulations on the impressive total so far, and also on the giving up smoking - are you adding the savings on cigarettes to your total? It may keep your motivation up.

Re: If I did get to the £2012 early will I still be welcome here I just dont want to seem like you think I am smug because I have achieved this quite quickly, I know the next £1,000 will be a lot harder to achieve that the first half. I really do not want to join the other challenge the £12,000 in 2012 as I like you guys and I also think that challenge is too much for me to do and I will get lost along the way

I would like you to carry on here.

I see it as one of our team doing exceptionally well. Kinda makes me proud :-)

    Well done Clipperty
