Hi All,

Thought i would pass this story on.

My workmate had a call from a company called Reclaim2Gain, who explained that they could reclaim your bank charges for you. She hadnt got any but passed them onto her BF who has.

When she put the phone down i explained that you could claim them yourself thanks to sites like this. In a panic she tried to call her BF, who was by then on the phone to the company.

When she eventually got through, the BF had paid £39.95 for the privelage of the comopany contacting the bank on his behalf, plus a promise he would receive 80% of anything successfully claimed!!!!!!!

That sounded bad enough to me, but of course some potentially rogue company has got his bank details!!

Beware peeps!!
Smile!

You have the right to call them back and ask for a refund, there will be a small charge but i dont think they can charge more than £5 admin charge. And tell them to do it themselves.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

PRESS THANKS

• Hi guys

Im new to this so sorry if i am continuing a ended discussion.

I chose to go with BankSmart to reclaim my bank charges as it seemed the easier option and claimed to be "No Win No Fees". I received a letter today from them demanding payment for services of £150. I presumed i would not have to pay as i had not won anything back yet.

This is stressing me out, im in enough debt without this! :(
• hi forum,
i instructed robinson holbrook to reclaim my bank charges for me.I sent them my statements and they got an offer back of £4100 which i was more than happy with but they told me to hang on for more as this didn't include there fee and i would need to pay this out of my offer or hold on and they would claim the fee from the bank. This was just before all the cases went on hold .Now I'm not sure what to do or where i stand in pursuing the bank for the offer they made

I am in need of some help! I have been with a company called Bank-Smart, who is dealing with my bank claims, and they have just hit me with a letter telling me that I have to pay the over £500 to continue with my claim! I have had this claim since April last year and they said I am entitled to just under £2500. They calculated the 10% they would take and left me with a sum of £2238.30 which I am very happy with. But of course, with the judgment just about to come through, they hit me with me owing them £500!? <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

If this is the case then they have done to me what the banks have been doing…..screwing me over!

I have sent e-mails to the company as they have no direct line to contact them stating that I need to clarify what exactly is going on, and they have not bothered to respond?!

Can anyone please help??

If this is what is happening to everyone with comanies dealing with thier charges then i am fully prepared to go to the media with this!

• I've used Boomerang Bank Charges to reclaim the default charges levied on my Natwest account that largely occured between turning 18 and going to University at 21. My charges totalled around £1,400 and i'm dismayed to discover that on top of the 20% fee issued by Boomerang, a further 17.5% will be levied in VAT.

The addition of VAT isn't mentioned in their T&C's, and only once across their site - therefore I presume that VAT is automatically deducted, and it was my own fault for making such an oversight.

My advice to anyone thinking of reclaiming would be to do it yourself, all the help you need is on this site, and as such i've iniated proceedings against both Capital One and Monument, both of whom have made offers (with no need for a VAT deduction ;-p ) that i've declined in favour of pursuing the complete amount.

hi, thanks :) il let post here the outcome toox

I've removed your initial post as it contains a link to the company that you are using and thereby giving the company exposure that is a contradiction to this particular board.

As regards using such a company I would read all the previous posts and think carefully about doing your claim yourself.
• hi, i didnt realise i broke any forum rule , i do apologise.im just doing the claimm this way as it seems better for me cus i wouldnt claim at all otherwise . a couple of people i know did it this way and dont regret it . all credit to people who can do it soley, sadly i cant
