You shouldn't get your cashback monthly according to their cashback terms:

1.3 The total value of cash back accrued shall be calculated from the date of the commencement of the Scheme until the date of the anniversary of You opening Your Citi Card Account and each twelve month period thereafter. The cash back shall be paid into and applied to Your Citi Card Account, in the month following the anniversary of You opening Your Citi Card Account and each calendar year thereafter respectively.

I'd also like to know if this is still open to new signups. If you click proceed you seem to be taken to the normal signup page without any reference to the cashback.

Well I've just applied so I'll let you know if it still includes the cashback (the only reason I applied).

When I applied, there was no reference to the cashback on any of the paperwork. I think that it's the cashback card if you successfully apply for a Platinum card.

  • I have just received my first statement and there is no mention of cashback at all.
    My online account says
Cash back earned this year £ 0
Cash back earned on last statement £ 0
Cash back adjustments on last statement £ Not Registered
Bonus cash back earned on last statement £ 0

I phoned up and was told that it was definately a cashback card, but that maybe i should check next month, when it would hopefully have been sorted out.
    How UNCONVINCING that sounded !!

Just got off the phone with Citicard's CS, who denied that my card carries 1% cashback, despite I applied from the page clearly marked so. They said once account is opened, they can do nothing about it.

Anyone know the name and address of CitiBank UK's MD? I want to lodge a complaint directly at the top.

    Thanks.

I'm just about to apply for this card myself, but this is very concerning.

Anyone else had this problem ?

    Thanks

I've got my first statement and confirm that I got cashback even though there was no mention of it on my T & Cs.

I did phone customer services twice to confirm that I had it whilst applying and also my on-line service page shows the amount of cashabk in the 'My Rewards' tab

I still haven't received any paperwork for my new card but when I do I'll ring them to confirm the cashback before I sign anything. Sounds like they didn't update their website properly by the looks of things. Even so, they are in breech of trading laws if after applying for the card you don't get any cashback. Otherwise all the CC companies would offer 20% cashback and then deny it. Particularly as the link is still there.

johnk I'd recommend ringing tradings standards and making a complaint first, tell them how to get to the cashback page from their main site. Writing to their MD might make them take the link away before an independant witness sees it.

Good question. I can find the link if I search Google, but I can only get up to the bit where it asks for my bank details. Having entered those it says I have entered an invalid account number or sort code (how does it know that???) and will not let me continue.

    Any ideas guys?
