Halifax Monthly Draw

Well it was quite difficult to find out and I had to go back 2 days later to find out how much I had won!
It was £100
Such a long winded way of telling you how much you have won though!
Even though you have an account with them and they will pay winnings into your account you need to take ID with you and proof of address.
I took my passport and the recorded delivery letter from them. My passport was fine but their letter was not proof of ID. They wanted either:- bank statement - I online bank with them
- utility bill - I have paperless account
- council tax bill - no problem but it's not under 3 months old which is another requirement that proof of address is under 3 months old
- letter from Govt. body i.e. IR, tax credits - again though they go out around April.
My Mum has had the same problem as you.
Still no cheque has arrived so she rang the contact centre.
Her "local" branch 30 mile round trip that she was forced to go to "lost" her ID or never faxed it off, so she had been told to go back there and ask them to re-fax it.
So all in all her £100 is actually £70 taking into account the cost of two trips and parking, excluding inconvenience.
I've told her to make a complaint to be honest, just because Halifax are knobs for closing our local agency.0 -

I would file a complaint. and I see no reason for all the rigamarole for the lower prizes either.0 -

My dad received a letter on Saturday, and went in to the branch to claim today. First one they had dealt with and they needed to check up how to do it - took about half an hour in total. Should get £100 cheque in 7 days.0

Nice to know that some MSE savers are hearing good news from the Halifax.
What a rigmarole to go through for £100 though... half an hour in branch...and then a cheque in the post!!
Hope there is someone on MSE who gets more than £100.0 -
