She thought it was a scam at first, then I reminded her that I had enrolled her.

I had assumed that they would just send a cheque to her. Fingers crossed.

I would of thought that the bigger ones they would be keen to get in front of a financial adviser before releasing the funds.

I was getting excited that she'd won at least £1,000.

    But their web site states:
How do I find out if I've won?
All winners will be notified by post and will be asked to visit a Halifax or Bank of Scotland branch to claim their prize. A full list of winners by name and county will be available on request from our branches for 6 months after each draw.

Never mind. We came to an agreement that if its £100 she'll take me and my sister out for food.

£1,000 or £100,000 and she'll give me 20% for enrolling her.

    It's a win win haha

She visited the branch and produced the letter to an excited cashier who exclaimed "Oh my, wait here, you're the first person we've had in this branch".

Another member of staff then ushered her off to a side room for a cup of coffee and she sat waiting. She was told that they would need to take her letter and 2 forms of ID and go and get "the manager".

The manager then came back and asked whether she would like the money paid as a cheque or into a Halifax account... How much was it.... £100 of course!

I had a recorded delivery letter today informing me I had one. No details on how much but I guess it will be £100. Off to find out tomorrow. Whatever a nice little treat for me:D

  • Good luck Poppy9, hope you get a nice little treat!

Question: would having multiples of £5,000.00 increase your chances of winning...

For example, holding £5,340.00 in an ISA and £5,000.00 in a savings account double your number of entries into the prize draw?!

    Yours,

Unfortunately not .. the balance should be more than 5K to qualify but there is no upper band i.e having 20 K in savings does not enters you 4 times in the draw. If you have joint account then every member of the account can participate in the draw provided savings in more than 10K (5K each assuming that there are two account members in the joint account). Also Only personal accounts and not business accounts are qualified for draw

    Hope this helps.
