Have you used the free trials with all the agencies?

If not use the free trials for each first.

After this you can do as you wish - either remain subscribed beyond the trial period (which I wouldn't recommend because it's expensive) or obtain your credit reports from each CRA by post when you like at a cost of £2 per report per agency, which is what I do.

    The choice is yours.....

In my experience it usually takes anything from 1-3 weeks.

Also be aware that if you are obtaining your report for the first time they may ask you to send them supporting ID (they will specify what type).

All - I hope someone can help.

I have signed up to look at all three reports.

With Experian and Call credit I am in the 4 star catagory, but with Experian I am 1 star!

Experian doesn't seem to have any of my accounts or show any credit seraches on me, but does show me on electoral roll. Should I ring to find out if there is a problem linking info to my account?

I wasn't aware Experian had a star rating, can you explain a bit more what this is please?

  • I have just checked my experian credit report and it says I only have £20.00 of available credit! Is this right? It says i've used £3891.

It is via the "Check my file" ("CMF") website - I signed up for the quarterly report to look at all the files.

The experian one (per CMF) (in the summary section of all three reports) has NO credit cards and NO mortgages.

    It then says:

Based on your credit report, and information held about your postcode, your credit score out of 1000 has been calculated as...
    405
This score is then converted to your credit rating, which is...
    blue-star.gifgrey-star.gifgrey-star.gifgrey-star.gifgrey-star.gif
This is the lowest credit rating of all.

I hope yuo can see the above.

The other two (CC and EQ) say roughly this:
Based on your credit report, and information held about your postcode, your credit score out of 1000 has been calculated as...
    892
This score is then converted to your credit rating, which is...
    blue-star.gifblue-star.gifblue-star.gifblue-star.gifgrey-star.gif
You have a good credit rating.

Oh right I see, perhaps you should read Underground's post above (#68) as he mentions there is a lot of data missing from Experian reports on that site.

To be honest that checkmyfile thing seems to be a complete waste of time/money ;)
