  • :)Hi everyone,

I am new to this site and need any advice with regards to PPI reclaims.
Basically, I used to bank with Lloyds TSB until the end of 2010. I have just got myself a credit report from Equifax and it shows a credit card that i took out in 2008 and has been settled since 2010 and a loan that i took out in 2007 that was settled in 2008.
I have recently heard a lot about mis selling of PPI and I am not sure if I had PPI on either the loan/credit card. I have no paperwork at all and am no longer a customer with that bank so I wondered if anyone has been in this position, how I would begin to find out if I had PPI on these and would the bank even look at my file?

Thanks so much and I really appreciate any help or info you have!

    Hi Kayleigh,

What you would need to do is write to Lloyds TSB asking for a DSAR (Data Subject Access Request). You don't need to know your account numbers - all you need to do is give them your full name name and address (if you've moved house at any point while the accounts were open, or since you've closed the accounts, then include your previous address too). The Data Subject Access Request costs £10 - but Lloyds TSB, under the Data Protection Act, have to send you details of all the accounts that you had - including copy statements, details of when the accounts were opened and closed, whether the accounts had PPI or not, etc.

There is a template letter on the homepage of this website somewhere. Just copy and paste that, but change the relevant parts of that letter so that it has your details instead. Send it off with your cheque - and then Lloyds TSB will send you your DSAR within 40 days.

Once your DSAR arrives, check it all over fully (be warned, you could get hundreds, or even thousands of pages - I had about 700 sheets to look through - but its worth it because you could find one page out of all of those that state that you had PPI) - and if you find that any of the accounts did have PPI, then open a complaint straight away.

    I hope that helps :D

Getting really pi**ed off now, had an email monday from pauline day, operations manager saying your recalculated refund will be paid within 3 working days, sorry & bla bla, so .... rang up today and said today is the 3rd working day is my money going to be paid today as per *' email we received monday? Erm im unsure it says 'processing' on the computer so I cannot tell you when you will receive this payment ..... then Lloyds WHY email monday guaranteeing the money will be paid within 3 working days?????????? Has anybody else had this? Getting pig sick now this has gone on since ruddy november :@
Yes strangely I had the same email on Friday, so mine should be due tomorrow as my email said 2 working days!!
But I replied to the PPI Team but CC'd in *, and strangely then had an out of office from him saying he no longer works for them and to contact somebody else?! I did also attach a copy of the letter I've already sent by recorded delivery to the PPI Complaints address to show them with a deadline before legal action will commence.
I had 3 refunds due, but 2 have been paid thankfully!:)
Keep you posted if I get mine soon!:grouphug:

Haha well done! Its amazing how they're "too busy" usually - but as soon as they get "put up or go to court" letter, they can suddenly pay up.

It just proves that they're taking us for a ride and using any possible delay tactic until they know they're backed into a corner (faced with court action).

Glad you've got 2 payments through so far :D

As for my op - its been delayed until the end of the month (which is why i'm back here so quick haha). I had a chest infection so they couldn't give me general anaesthetic. Not long to wait though :D
Oh dear, hope you'll be ok for the op then, good luck with that!

Just waiting on the last payment now, had an email on Friday saying due to be paid soon! Also replied to them attaching a copy of the letter I'd sent via recorded post with deadline and Formal Complaint - Final Demand.
    So fingers crossed!:grouphug:

Started a claim for PPI I didn't know I even had on 2 loans couple weeks ago, phoned up LTSB to see if they recieved my FOS forms, which they had, but could not discuss any claims as the address on my FOS was different to my address when I banked with them over 4 years ago. Do these idiots not realise people move? Anyways, has anyone else had similar issues?

  • Hi. I was looking for a bit of advice if at all possible. I have lodged a mis-selling complaint against Lloyds covering a total of 4 loans which I took out during the 1990’s.

On contacting the Lloyds claim line I provided the main reason for my complaint as being the fact that for all 4 loans, I was only ever provided with one monthly payment figure (which obviously included PPI) and not a monthly figure with and without. As such, they have recorded the main reason as ‘I was not made aware that cover was optional’.

My query relates to whether the above reason is sufficient for a claim or whether I need to elaborate. For all 4 loans, as stated above I was not provided with a monthly figure which included or excluded the cover but just the one monthly amount. I know for a fact that PPI was never explained to me nor were any questions asked relating to my personal circumstances etc. Also, I was in full time employment with generous sick/accident cover (6 months full paid reducing to half pay). Should I contact Lloyds and elaborate on these additional reasons or just leave it as it stands?

The reason I need this advice is that I would hate to think that just because Lloyds have not recorded all my reasons for my complaint, this may affect my claim. Am I being too fussy? Do Lloyds generally settle anyway?
