LloydsTSB PPI Payment

Hi I received an offer in Aug. Duly accepted. Payment received on 22 Dec ...in the wrong name!! Still waiting for a new cheque to be re issued despite them having paid another offer directly in the bank. Really am at my wits end. Just keep getting told i'm in a queue. I am genuinely happy for those who have been paid in a quick turnaround, but it is soooo bloody annoying:mad:
Another phonecall this morning... no update. Just sent off recorded letter giving them 14 days to pay up or I will be going through the courts. :mad:GRRRRRRRRRRR:mad:0 -
Well after recieving offers from them on 22nd December I finally got paid out this week
In my original complaint letter I simply stated that I want a refund of PPI on my account as I didn't have the loan agreement numbers and i even said that I wanted to claim for my credit card in the same letter.
To my suprise they went back as far as 1989 when I had a number of small loans for buying motorbikes when I was a teenager.
Checked my account on Tuesday this week to find that they had indeed paid the full amount offered with the additional PPI I have paid since Decemeber.
I recieved a whopping £22,563.05 which means that my total PPI including the credit card stands at £24,441.05.
What amazed me most is that I wasnt originally going to claim as I figured I wouldnt get much if anything back, can honestly say that was the best first class stamp I have every paid.
I've gone from struggling with two credit cards and a loan to being completley debt free and still have £8000, keep up the good fight people.
You can only imagine the feeling of relief when you finally get to pay everything off with out taking out another loan. I have learnt my lesson now and if I want something I will be saving up before buying it0 -

If they've definately receieved it, and they're denying it, then you've done enough to take them to court.
Good luck! Sounds like you're onto a winner here. I'd put my money on them recieving it but conveniently losing the letter (or they're actually testing you to see if you will take them to court - in which case, thats a risky tactic by them because if you do, it'll cost them extra in court fees!).
Just as a side note I believe that recorded letters to PO Boxes (such as lloyds) never actually show as being signed for / delivered.Of course, you could have some real fun and let them pay you twice - and then when they phone you to get it back, keep them on hold for 35 minutes before telling them "you're busy and can't give them a deadline of when you can pay it", ignore their emails, and then pay them back 6 months later :rotfl:
They paid us twice, now they've lost our cheque we sent them back. Idiots, we've now closed all lloyds accounts so they can't cash it anyway, looks like they'll have to come chasing..don't actually have a cheque book for the new account either heh0 -

Their Tredegar Park address in Cardiff, along with their other PPI address are standard addresses, rather than PO Box addresses - so if people have sent their complaints to those two addresses, their letters will be signed for and they'll be able to get a proof of delivery.0 -
Hi all, first time poster here, hoping for some advice.
I contacted Lloydstsb a few months ago regarding the PPI of a credit card I took out in 2002. I only noticed about a year ago I was paying it and subsequently cancelled the insurance.
I contacted them by phone and was asked a few questions. I hadn't received any feedback for a while so I phoned them two weeks ago and they informed me I haven't been successful. I have since also had this in writing stating I don't have a claim due to the questionnaire I have completed ( which I never have completed ).
I really believe I have a legitimate claim here and was wondering if this was the normal response people were having or if I should contact the financial ombudsman to seek further advice
Many thanks0 -
My advice would be to write to Lloyds TSB asking them:
1. What questionaire they're referring to.
2. What their reason is for stating that you're unsuccessful.
Then state why you feel that your claim should have been successful, and why you feel you were mis-sold PPI.
Make sure the letter has the title "Formal complaint regarding..." in bold so that it is handled as a complaint (and gets dealt with within the official complaint timescale set by the FSA/FOS, rather than a general letter which doesn't have a timescale).
They will then have to respond within the complaint timescale (which I think is 8 weeks maximum - but the advisory period is 4 weeks).
If they still say you haven't got a claim, or you disagree with what they're saying, then take your complaint to the FSA/FOS.
Send all correspondance by recorded post so that you have proof of all letters sent, etc.0 -
Well, I've been paid. I received my offer letters 2 weeks ago and when I checked my bank account this morning I have received just over £14,500 from Lloyds. I know that many people have been waiting a while to hear and then receive their payments but personally I can't complain. I hope folks on this forum get their complaints resolved and payments due to them soon. Thanks for all your support.0

I've been reading this forum for months now and as I know that Lloyds read this, it may be the only way that I can make them understand how angry I am as they don't respond to emails and, whereas I have spoken to the "nice welsh lady" once before (hello if you're reading this), I am still waiting to be paid.
In fact, I recommended to a friend that she apply back in October and she has since been duly paid - unbelievable!
My offer letter was dated 10th October, so Lloyds, if you'd kindly check you'll probably find my details at the bottom of your pile - please deal with asap as this customer of 26 years is getting a trifle frustrated.
And to quote your helpline staff - have a nice day.....0
