    Just adding my story...

27th Jan 2012 - rang PPI claim line & lodged complaint for front loaded PPI on loans taken out in January 2002 (5 year) & January 2003 (3 year) - both repaid early in 2005. I only had Loan reference numbers to hand.
Received acknowledgement letter 1 week later.

13th March 2012 - received letter (dated 7th March) detailing decision & award of £2670.40 calculated to 26th March 2012, to be paid either by cheque or direct to LTSB account.
14th March 2012 - Full payment landed in my LTSB current account today!!!

The letter on the 13th prompted by DH to dig out his paperwork & call.

I can only assume recent press has contributed to the rapid speed with which my claim & subsequent payment were dealt with.

  • Hi new to forum looking for help ran a small business took out two loans with ppi. Business ran into difficulties so closed and dissolved company at companies house however i was the guarantor for the loans so i had to pay them back which is fare. I then remembered about the ppi insurance made a claim with Lloydds Tsb was awarded two amounts of £1264.43 and £1428.73 which i thought great that will come off the £10,000 i owe as a guarantor for the business. How wrong i was they sent the money too Treasury as the company is now closed and said as the company is closed you are not entitled to the money but i still have to pay the loan back off the company. I feel this should have come off the loans as this is what i am paying off. Any help on this one.

Time to set a deadline of 14 days before taking court action I feel. They've unfairly dragged it out it seems, and by asking, you're not getting anywhere - so its time to TELL them.

As far as i'm aware, this is standard practice if the loans are still active - and you won't be able to get a 'lump sum' in your bank account. The bank are still refunding you, so they're not actually doing anything wrong. You could write to the Ombudsman, but I doubt they'll take your side on this occasion - plus it'll drag everything out for anything up to 12 months+.

Tricky one this - and I doubt its anything anyone on here will be able to help with. I think this could be one for your solicitor to clear up....

uPayment made straight into business account 2nd March.

Had a PPI reclaim going on since 2010 and was with the FOS since June 2011. Letter came from FOS upholding my complaint due to pre existing medical condition. Sent signed agreement back to FOS and a few days later money was paid straight into my business account with nothing from Lloyds no letter with breakdown of figures for the three loans. Very happy though its been long enough.

Just had a VAT inspection and in pulling out all the old paperwork to shred found an old loan agreement going back to 1998. So will start the whole scenario all over again.

I wish all those still waiting for their money a speedy payment.
